Ok, fine, I didn't use my dads account, but why is that the issue? I should still be entitled to get my gift cards back at least! How can they justify keeping my money?

Because you fraudulently opened an account and fraudulently added funds to that account.
One of the terms in the user agreement is that you forfeit any deposits when doing this.

If you consider it unfair, you will have to attempt legal action against Amazon, something that is risky given your actions so far.

even Poke.io have it wrong in their terms
    Elegibility

In using the service you must at all times:
Be able to enter into a legal contract
Be at least thirteen (13) years of age minimum
Use only a valid e-mail address
Ensure that all information provided is true, accurate and not misleading

In the UK to enter into a Legal contract you must be at least 18 years old

their FAQ at https://pock.io/faq also states
    Can I cancel an order?
Gift cards that have been sent out cannot be cancelled, and once an order is placed it cannot be reversed unless pockio agrees to its cancellation.

They haven't got your money. They have just refused your ability to use your gift cards. Tell that to who supplied them, ask them to check and cancel.

They have got his money. He redeemed the amount on his card onto his account balance.

The Gift Card now has zero balance.

No all he has done is added his gift card onto his FRAUDULENTLY obtained account.

He paid Poke.io, so they are the ones that have his money
  • To put it bluntly, you ignored Amazon's terms and conditions and lied to open an account and lost money as a result of this.

Everything that happened was because of your own actions and choices and it's now a case of taking responsibility .

Can you please no longer post on my thread. You are making out that I am some sort of a criminal, when in reality, I have just lost £300 of my money.

How pathetic. I will pursue this case on my own, making out I deserved to loose my money because I opened an account before reading T&C, not only that, but the account wasn't even closed for that reason.

What do you mean 'added his gift card'?

no i am not saying you are a criminal, you opened an account fraudulently and now are paying the price. this is a public forum, if you dont like peoples comments then you are free to leave the forum
  • I opened an account before reading T&C

But you obviously knew that you were not entitled to open an Amazon account otherwise why did you lie about it and say that it was your father's account?

It's not pathetic in the least. It's simply expecting someone to take responsibility for their actions and choices.
I've already stated that you could attempt legal action, but I can't see you winning once the facts come to light.
