end of the month, so time for an update.

CC1 is now paid off and closed :D
CC2 is the next to go, as the 0% runs out in March. [strike]All being well[/strike] I will have cleared it by then.
CC3 and CC4 are relatively small balances too, now that I've done my shuffling, and so they should gone by the summer. And then that leaves CC5, which is now quite large because of the shuffling :o but all at a low life of balance rate.

This month sees my total paid off at 30.9% :T I'm very happy with that!

I'm still doing daily OPs, as I find that really motivates me. We've switched to an Ald1 shop, and although I really dislike the tills, the quality and price of the food far outweighs that :)

I've got a lovely, and very rare, day off in the week today. The list of chores is ever-expanding, and so far looks like this:

    mealplan for the week DONE
    check financials DONE
    Ironing DONE
    Check present stock DONE
    write some Christmas cards
Sort out paperwork on the kitchen side
Read my niece's essay (she's at uni and wants me to check her work)

I think that's probably enough for now. Perhaps I should put 'catch up with the diaries' there, and then I won't feel guilty about spending time on here too! :D

Well done Steppie on getting CC1 paid off and closed! I only have one active CC with a small balance of £200 to shift, so I think I'll renew my efforts to get it cleared, in my case not so I can close it but to know that money is there as an emergency back-up. I think I'll use your method of small overpayments and see how much I can shift!

My kitchen table is a bit of a hot-spot for unattended paperwork lol! I MUST put a basket on it to keep everything neat - it tends to accumulate quickly!:p

  • Hello :hello:

Not too much to report, but I thought I'd update my sig.. Although it's not changed by much :o We've had broadband issues for a couple of weeks too, which have not helped. I'm still finishing up Christmas bits and bobs shopping wise, but I'm staying within my budget thank goodness. I'm determined not to use any CC at all. The tree is up, but no decorations yet - that's tonight's job, together with finishing the cards so that I can post them tomorrow.

Small OP made to CC2 most days, although it's pence rather than pounds. Payday tomorrow!!

  • Payday has been and gone. Small OP made to CC2, so it's just below £1500 now. I'm not going to make any big OPs this month, as I want to see how things pan out. Does anyone else's OH seem to assume that we are now rich, because we're paying things off? OH has his own debts, which I do not include in my numbers - but he always seems to assume that I will have money for everything  I pay for everything child related, I've paid for all the Christmas shopping, and I sort all the household bills from the joint account that he pays into.. I'm getting a bit fed up of it. Actually I think I'm just a bit flat generally. Work has been manic, I'm having to do everything Christmas related, including decorating the house, and do the shopping.. And I'm knackered. We'll see if that makes it through the filter! I'm supposed to be dieting, and that's not happening, even though I'm on Myfitnesspal and getting under my calories every day.

And to cap it all we tried opening one of the sash windows upstairs over the weekend, and the bottom fell off, so I'm going to have to use some of the emergency money there I think. I don't want to! But DH hasn't got his EF in place.. He says he can't afford to, even though about 6 months ago he reduced what he pays into the joint account by £200 a month. I'm having a right moan, aren't I? Sorry. I usually go to Bootcamp on Wednesday, but I'm missing it tonight as I twisted my ankle in Monday's class. Not a good week so far!

  • Hi all.. Payday from the holiday let has arrived early, so payments made to the HMRC account, and an OP to CC2. I finished work at 3 pm today so it's been a bit of a mad week; sitting down now with a lovely G&T and James Bond :D

Wishing everyone here a wonderful Christmas, and a very prosperous new year xx

  • :xmassign: aww a lovely couple of days has been had. We invited some acquaintances from the village for Christmas lunch and had a lovely time. They didn't leave til gone 7pm so I think they enjoyed it too! Yesterday was very lazy, just the 3 of us, so films were watched and leftovers eaten. More leftovers today, with the traditional bubble and squeak for lunch.

Checked the accounts. I might have been optimistic about my OPs :o but I'm determined not to go into the OD so we'll see how the next week or so goes. We're off to see friends of ours for NYE but have enough alcohol in the house, so we shouldn't need to buy anything to take.

Hope everyone is getting chance to have a bit of a rest xx

  • Hey you!

Hope you had a very merry Christmas, and a fab New years celebration! Mine was very quiet and I was in bed before the clock struck. Getting old.

I'm trying to get back, but I just can't go through the 6900 posts people I subscribe to have made since I did a bunk! I hope things have gone well this year. I'm very impressed with the OP's!! Still at it hard :)

Hope to be back more now and get back into it! I sure need it :)

    Hugs xx

Plans for today include taking the decs down; the house always look so bare afterwards. And catching up on month end financials - spreadsheet fiddling hurrah!! :D
