  • Hi DFB35!!

CC2 has a fairly small balance, about £1800, but in March the 0% ends and goes up to 22ish% so I want to get rid of it before then.. And then CC3 which has about £2000.. And then the final two, which have about £7500 on ..each of them  So there's an awfully long way to go, but each day brings me closer to my DF day.

You're doing really well DFB35.. That loan will not be there for long! xx

That's the thing when you look at all the debt at once it seems a lot but when you take one debt and target at the time like you'd been doing, it's a lot more manageable!

You will do it steppie one debt at a time and dont forget you already paid of a nearly 7k credit card! Also while you focussing on one debt all the others reducing as per minimum payments so by the time you come to tackle them they be a lot less also :money:

    You can do it :T

thank you VERY much DFB35 :) sometimes hearing it from others makes it more real; you're right, I have already paid off a nearly £7K card in 8/9 months :D :T. My DFD is Oct 2017, according to the snowball, so we'll see if I can bring it forward a bit. And with any luck by the spring I'll be able to transfer the 2 bigger cards onto 0% deals which will help a lot too. I don't want to apply for any at the moment as I've just got the F1srt d1rect account so that'll show on my credit history. But all going in the right direction. Thanks so much again for your words of encouragement. They mean a lot xx

I feel a bit flat this morning actually.. The awful awful news from Paris.

I've updated my sig to reflect the new target.

Thank you both.. I do feel pleased, of course. Just a bit flat that it's not all finished ! But it is a big milestone.. I can do this, and this is 1/5 of my debts gone :D

  • hi everyone

not too much to report as it's not long since payday, but I've started using the new FD account. I don't like the app at all! Hopefully I'll get used to it. The first of the DDs has bounced, which bodes well for the rest :o but I've done a manual transfer so I won't get charged.

Finally got the spreadsheet up and running again. I had missed it! Lovely to see the CC1 column at 0 :D This month will see me at 30% of my debt paid off. I'm very happy about that, as you can imagine!
The next target CC2 needs to be paid off by the end of March as that's when the 0% runs out. If they'll give me another 0% offer, I'll keep the account open and do a transfer from CC3, otherwise it'll get closed. I phoned up to check that CC1 was closed :D

I haven't been up to too much, it's been busy at work, so in the evenings I've been doing as little as possible - apart from bootcamp, visiting Grandma in hospital every night, taking DD to her various clubs etc etc etc. No rest for the wicked! Tonight DD has guides, so I'll visit Grandma while that's on. two birds with one stone !

It's Monday :o and I'm feeling pretty good. I've played around with my spreadsheet (oh, how I love doing that!) and I think I might do a shuffle with my two big cards (CC4 & 5) as one is offering me a really good life balance transfer. I'm still paying interest so it's worth doing. I'll ring them tomorrow.

I've made another OP to CC2, and updated my sig. Looking forward to knocking this one on the head very quickly (I hope!).

Christmas shopping is well advanced; all nieces and nephews are done, Godchildren done.. Brothers in law, and sister in law still to get. It's a bit frustrating, actually.. In my family we have an agreement that we stop buying when they are 18. Doesn't apply in DH's family  I wish it did; DH's brothers are really hard to buy for!
