Ok, at the risk of waking this thread back up......
Forget the phone comparison company you are using, they seem to be confusing you.
Use www.energyhelpline.com , a very simple easy to use website.
Input your:
current company
current tariff,
payment type (direct Debit)
You do not seem to have correct usage figures so for now use the following.
16,000kwh gas and 3500kwh electric. Make sure you put them in the correct boxes.
Click Next
On this page leave everything as it is except the last box/option.
Ensure you select "Show all available tariffs".
Then click next and see what comes up cheapest.
In fact SP have just release a new cheaper March 2016 tariff!!! So I will be switching today (second time this month).0 -
Thanks, who are SP?0
-
Scottish Power,
Been with them for a year and had no issues. They have no cancellation fees/charges at all.
However follow my guide above and do the comparison based on your area as you may get different results.
One last question, you do not have a prepayment meter do you?0 -
no prepayment metre here, dry metres, would like smart metres though0

"you're concentrating on the money.
either you used the gas and elec in the specified period, or you didn't. if you supplied the correct readings at all points, and they are in the correct units, and they match the bill, then assume the bill is correct - the way it's laid out on this forum is too messy for my head to comprehend"
I'm afraid I don't entirely agree with what bsod said above. If you have in fact been using more gas than initially estimated by the supplier to set your monthly direct debit, then the supplier will raise the direct debit above the actual monthly usage in order to recoup underpayments in previous months, in addition, the supplier may add a bit extra on to boost its cashflow or "just because it can" if not challenged.“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”

Ah, Scottish Power. I had thirteen long years of arguments with them about our direct debit, having to claim back between £300 and £600 each year because they set our direct debit too high regularly.“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”

And ensure those are selected as annual consumptions in kWh (not monthly or in pounds!)CashStrapped wrote: »You do not seem to have correct usage figures so for now use the following.

(Sorry, but thought I better spell that out!)
Also make sure the web page doesn't mess things up selecting other things at random when you move down it (uswitch have ruined their pages with some ridiculous coding that goes haywire if you breathe too heavily.)0 -

Have you actually read the thread, or are you just trying to have a moan about direct debit setting?

OP, ovo's prices are supposed to be reducing in march, you may wish to check whether those prices quoted are reduced or 'now'. It's a gas meter, which supplies gas measured in cubic metres.Don't you dare criticise what you cannot understand0 -
Thanks all
With my current supplier they gave me my expected annual usage
Price Promise February 2016 tariff
Gas £1606.12 PER YEAR
GAS - 33,319 KWH PER YEAR
Gas TCR 4.63
Electric £396.75 PER YEAR
ELECTRIC - 2,457 KWH PER YEAR
TCR ELECTRIC 14.43
I said, well thanks for that projection but how much have I actually used for the last year and they said, well that's the same, we use what you have used as your projection also.0 -
Has anyone got a rope and a chair?
So, have you put those figures (either the ones I gave you or the ones you just posted) into www.energyhelpline.com
What company comes out cheapest?
Pick it and switch!0
