Gas Bill jumped £200? is it faulty?

how you use it best depends on what you've got, what controls you've got, how much you want to pay, how often you're in, which rooms you sit in, etc. A gas fire usually works out far cheaper than having CH on, but you say you only use one radiator, is that correct?
work on the tariff first, you're paying well over the odds per kwh

We only have a small two bedroomed end terraced house.
Only have two radiators on, which are on in the front room. None of the other radiators are on in the house. Its gas central heating is the house. Want to pay as little as possible in Gas.
We have a remote thermostat Wireless in term of control. What do you think we should set the thermostat at?
When you say work on the tariff first, what do you mean? Alot of companies ask me well how much do you use and we will tell you our tariff. What tariff should I look for?0 -
On that website you mentioned it says
dual fuel tariff? But I dont know if I am on a Dual Fuel Tariff? How do I know?
It also says
Are you on?
Fix & Fall February 2015
Fixed Price February 2015
Im not sure.
It also asks how much KWH do you use every year, Im not sure? How do I find out or make the best best? Only lived in this house since the summer.0 -
the bill tells you which tariff you are on, if you are getting elec and gas from the same supplier, thats dual fuel
you posted an annual estimate of usage earlier, from your bill, ditto the other information name Fix & Fall March 2016
no bedroom, bathroom, hall, kitchen heating?
no gas fire?
no thermostatic radiator valves?
are you both in the house 24 hrs?Don't you dare criticise what you cannot understand0 -
On your statement it should give you an estimate of how much you will use in the next 12 months (in kwh), as well as the exact name of your tariff.
As for your thermostat, it depends how warm you like it. Start at 18 or 19 and increase until you are comfortable.0 -
It says Your 12 month Personal Projection for your current gas tariff is £1606.12.
SO is £1606.12 my gas tariff?
I cant figure out where is says my annual Gas estimate of usage, I have seen this though?
4 Jan 2015 - you gave us your meter reading 00457
4 Jan 2015 - estimated meter reading 00470
Estimated units used over 1 days 13
(Unit calorific value for this period 39.5)no bedroom, bathroom, kitchen heating?
no gas fire?
no thermostatic radiator valves?
Nope, only the two radiators in the front room are used. All other radiators in the house have never been turned on.0 -

On my post number 7, it has got most things from my Bill, can you see anywhere it says an estimate of how much Ill use in the next 12 months, I cant seem to see it?
Tariff name Fix & Fall March 2016
Payment method Quarterly Variable Direct Debit
End date 31 March 2016
Exit fees (if you switch supplier before end date) £30.00
Based on your actual usage to date 33793.61 kWh
Your 12 month Personal
Projection for your current
gas tariff is £1606.120 -
Also, there isn't really an "average" monthly amount for gas because it varies so much throughout the year. In January I used 2661kwh (£93.18) but last July I only used 367kwh (£17.36).
As it seems you are paying quarterly, on receipt of bill, your winter bills are always going to be much higher than your summer ones. A monthly direct debit would spread this cost over the whole year.0 -
Unless you live in a barn, I can't see how you can average 13.44 m3 of gas or 151 kwh per day since 26/11/2014
that equates to 6.28 kwh per hour every hour every day for 77 days just to heat one room to 20C
I use a fifth of that, and heat more than one roomDon't you dare criticise what you cannot understand0 -
I used the website Uswitch and it came up with another option from another company saying
£1,230.55 annual savings
This is how much you will spend in the next 12 months on this plan
Click for more information
£2,909.45 annual personal projection.
Is this a better deal than I have now? If so how much less would my £300 bill this month have been if I had been with this other company?0
