I want to lose a stone, I weigh just under 10 currently and I hate it.
Is it possible (without taking drugs!) to do it?

Yep. More exercise, better calorie management. Totally doable.
However, if you have any medical conditions it is always worth consulting a GP before taking on any sudden change in diet and/or activity.0 -
Yes definitely. Iv lost almost a stone in 5 weeks. I go to slimming world class. I don't agree with all there principals I.e sweetener etc, but the basic idea I love. Wholesome home cooked meals. I also limit processed foods and I find the weight comes off fine. It's sticking to it that's my problem once Iv lost the weightThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

Of course you can. Obviously you'll put it all back on again but for a few weeks at least you'll be slimmer."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

Easily - cut daily intake by 800 calories or more.
Forget exercise and fads and moneymaking groups or products, they are just a diversion from the simple truth that you need to eat less to lose weight.Don't you dare criticise what you cannot understand0 -
It is possible, however the more overweight you are the more you can lose in the first few weeks. Therefore you might struggle as you say you weigh less than 10 stone. Exercise helps but you won't do it without reducing your calories.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0

Thanks all, I know it's possible for some people to easily lose it, but I was unsure as I don't weigh excessively large amounts to start with.
My diet isn't hugely unhealthy but can be improved, I am trying to take more exercise. Now the nights are getting lighter it's a bit easier!0 -

Yes of course, I wouldn't say I eat lots to be honest - infact I know I don't but I do eat bread daily and other carbs I don't need.0 -

Calories are neither unhealthy or healthy, they are just calories, and burning them takes a surprising amount of exercise (which often makes people eat more). Most of the calories consumed are used to keep the body going, not to provide energy for exercise.
Just eat fewer calories. Don't get bogged down with carbs/proteins/sugar/etc food groups, it just leads to failure.Don't you dare criticise what you cannot understand0 -
I'm 5'7/8. If that's relevant.0
