They're saying that I'm over this month's allowance (billing period ending 9th February) by £650 already. It works out at around £6.50/mb - again, is this good, bad or normal, I wonder?
Are you sure it's £6.50 per MB for data used in the UK (or have you been abroad)? What plan are you on? Are you sure its not 65p per MB?0 -
OP have you by any chance been abroad, it might account for the high charges.0

this is what i do as soon as i get a new phone or use any phone. have never ever gone over the agreed data.
also i think providers should have caps on data relative to the customers plans and only upon customers consent remove the cap so that should eliminate suprise bills
But on the other hand mobile phone customers should take responsibilities for what they do on the phone.0 -
Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I haven't been abroad, so it's all UK data usage. What's really shocked me is how much they charge for the data; it's really quite astonishingly over-the-top, what-you-gonna-do-about-it, the-devil's-in-the-detail, we-got-us-a-real-schmuck-here, halle-freakin-lujah wow. Seeing as it's £11 for 1gb and then jumps up to £7 for 1mb. They're just making this up ...0

http://ee.co.uk/help/accounts-billing-and-topping-up/sign-up-and-manage-your-account/my-ee-account-help/ee-check-your-data-usageWe'll send you a text message when you've used 80% of your data allowance, and again when you've used it all, we'll provide a link within the message for you to buy more if you want to. For more information go to data add-ons.From time to time, you may use more data than you expect. But don't worry, you can't run up a massive bill without realising.
Once you've used your plan's inclusive allowance (available for certain EE plans starting before 24 March 2014) we'll let you know and you won't be able to get back online until you've bought a data add-on.0 -
Thanks, Grumbler. None of those things happened to me (i.e. no text messages at either 80% or 100%), so I need to follow up on that, I think.0
