I know what you mean! Georgie would have been fine on it's own, don't know why I had to stick the girl on the end! Purpleshoes is fine btw! Do you actually own some purpleshoes? :p

Your long post above is very open and honest and needs to be applauded. :T :T :T

Yes I do own some purpleshoes. Lovely high heels that I can't walk in because I've not worn heels since I broke my arm 7 years ago.

It's totally psychological but I'm terrified. So my lovely collection of heels most of which I bought after the arm break are going to have to be charity shopped. I'm very much a flats and trainers girl these days.

Changing the subject. I did a triathlon this morning. Am knackered but am glad I did it. Have done two since 2012, this was the third. Ran 3 miles, a record. Usually it's a stagger. But my skin is a terrible mess due to working so hard last week in bootcamp. Sweat down my face, sensitive skin. My mum got a fright when she saw me this morning. I'm currently sitting with sudocrem under my eyes and I look like a fright. Tried petroleum jelly but made it worse even though it doesn't irritate my skin.

I'm going to have to wear a bandage round my head in bootcamp and I'll look like rab c nesbitt (am Scottish just incase that sounds like it's a dig at Scots folk)

The sweat running down my forehead and into and under my eyes is giving me jip.

Do you have a garden Calley?

yes I do. And when I feel up to it. I go out side and either do a bit in the garden or just sit outside.

I have really good days when I go out for the day. Have a really nice day. Then I have ok days when I get up and potter around the house and do stuff like clean the oven, the bathroom. Then not so ok days were I get up and dressed and do nothing around the house but watch films or read. And then really bad days when I don't even get up at all.

This afternoon I went back to bed and spent most of it in and out of sleep which I know is not good as it will mess up my sleep tonight.

Sometimes I can go and temp for a couple of weeks and I am fine. But this is not the first melt down. I have been signed off of work 2-3 times in the 2 years before I left my job this time last year.

Been on anti-depressants. They made me feel I was going mad when I went on them. And in the end I missed a dose and I refused to go back on them. Made me so ill coming off them but going back on would have been worse. And really don't think that they helped.

How did they slice that without disturbing the piped splodges?

Hello - I'm new too, with a three year diagnosed condition that I still find it hard to believe I've got. I keep forgetting how restricted my life now is, and think I must be OK because I feel fairly stable most of the time. Then I realise that is just because I avoid almost everything.

Looking forward to getting to know you all. Do you recommend reading the whole thread, or jumping in from here on?

Hallo Stoodles! How're ya doodlin'! :)
Yes, how did they slice it? :rotfl: I hadn't noticed that! They must have piped them on after they sliced it!

Welcome to the thread! It might make more sense if you read as much as you can, but it isn't essential. You can always ask if anything puzzles you!

I hope WaS is ok, haven't seen her around today.

It's allowed to pipe cream on after things have been sliced. In fact I encourage people to pipe cream on at all times :D

  • My best friend at school was called Pauline, I have fond memories of that name!

Hello Calley! Welcome to our thread! As others have said sometimes when things happen that really hurt us and scare us we become afraid to be happy. I suffered with this for many years to the extent of sabotaging my own happiness before it could go wrong. You had some horrid things happen within a short space of time, of course you are going to worry that the next bad thing is around the corner. Often this leaks into many aspects of our life and we have to relearn that we can trust that things can be ok again. I promise it is possible for the worry to subside but it takes a while and counselling can help a great deal with that.

Anytime you are worried about something please feel that you can talk about it here if you wish. I found that by telling people what was causing me anxiety that then it allowed other people to offer logical explanations of why that may not be the horrid thing I thought it was which helped me a great deal. You are among friends here, we will always listen and support you as much as we can. Have a hug or a warm handshake, whatever feels safer.

Hello Stoodles! Welcome to our thread! It is easy to avoid what we know hurts and scares us to make ourselves feel better. I am a master at this. I have found that doing small things (minute things!) to try to expand my routine can help, taking it as slowly as feels comfortable. It IS hard because avoidance feels safe, but I promise you the sense of accomplishment when you achieve something is worth it. Also, avoidance is completely understandable, we naturally want to avoid what makes us hurt. Don't beat yourself up over it, it is a safety mechanism.

There is another thread as well as this one linked in the first post. I would say jump in and out of past posts when you have a bored moment. You can read them both by all means but it might take a while! It isn't necessary to read back, just if you really are that bored. Have a hug or a warm handshake, whatever feels safer.

Me too. Comfort comes first! That and I've got weak ankles, I've sprained them too many times.

Hope your skin calms down soon, but well done on the triathlon! I could do two of the 3 things but not it all as I can't swim! :p

Rab C Nesbitt is hilarious! :rotfl: My Mam used to absolutely crack up when she watched him! The actor who played him used to pop into the Carlisle branch of the shop I worked at now and again!

    Welcome Stoodles btw!
