WaS! Did you really go out by yourself, while WaSP was working? That's even braver than going out with him and without blanket! Many, many congratulations either way! xxxx
Edit: That's absolutely FANTASTIC! Really, really well done! xxxxxxEx board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -

Thanks to everyone on here being so kind. And welcoming me with open arms and not making me feel like some kind of freak. I wish I had come here sooner.
Anyway. I feel a million times better at the moment. Not sure how long it will last. But we shall see.
I do suffer a lot with anxiety and worry, and worry a lot about stuff that no one else would give a second thought. One of my major worries is my driving at the moment. So will use the car as little as possible walking everywhere that I can. Good for me as I want to loose some weight as well. And save me money. As I am skint and have a £450 credit card bill this month and car insurance due on the 4th of May  Its only money !!!!
I am off to partake in one of my hobbies while watching a film. I have not done any of my cross stitch for a while. Have a couple of projects on the go at the moment. And would be nice to finish them to get started on the next one. Sadly most of my hobbies are ones that you do alone. reading, cross stitch, photography.
But will try and get out for a walk/cycle most days if I can. And pick one job a day to get done. Such as cleaning the bathroom, decorating (anyone fancy giving me a hand LOL!!! I will supply beverage and biscuits of choice)
I will come back as often as I can to see how everyone is. take care for this evening and talk to you all again soon.
Again thanks for being so welcoming.
Yours

SOMEONE on here (you know who you are) sent me a PM saying that she no longer felt she was standing alone, she felt the team on the thread were behind her. There's real strength in unity and (even cyber!) friendship

Well. Thats nice that you have fond memories of the name. I like my name, like when you know that you wouldn't want to be called any other? Sounds daft but true. I was called after a book. Paintbox for pauline. I was 3 months premature and my mum had no clue what to call me and remembered that my uncle had bought her that book when she was younger.
I remember a thread on here when someone said it's an old persons name!!!!
Ha. When I did my pt course there was a pauline on it and she was 20 years younger than me. So it's really not
One of my neighbours keeps calling me Paula but I don't know him well enough to correct him. I wouldn't anyway be a bit rude to go it's Pauline!!! Storms away in fake huff.
Oddly enough there's a pauline who does my fitness classes and sometimes I go to classes taken by another pauline, can get a bit confusing at times.0 -

You are most certainly not some sort of freak. You should see what I worry about sometimes! Look on the worries as disaster mitigation. You are considering worst case scenarios so that you will be prepared in the event of them happening. Looking at them like that makes something constructive out of them.

Which aspect of driving is it that worries you? If it is negotiating other traffic, try what I did. I hadn't driven a car for nearly 20 years, (I rode a motorbike for some of the time), so first of all I had four refresher lessons with an instructor to get used to the controls. Then I would go out very, very early in the mornings and drive along near empty streets to familiarise myself with the routes I would need to use to get to work. Later on, I wanted to be able to drive on motorways, so I did the same thing, very early mornings, particularly at weekends, and practised on motorways. At first I stayed in the slow lane all the time, and then gradually tried simple overtaking, and built up my skills that way. Being ultra-familiar with a route really helps.
I was absolutely terrified at first, but I had to drive to work as there was no public transport, so I had to do it. Empty roads were the answer!
Since then, I have driven all over the country, and motorways are my favourite roads! Eeek! I have even driven around Hyde Park Corner in the rush hour! Several times!

Not necessarily! I think you might be able to find some embroidery groups! And I'm sure you'll find a literature appreciation class or three, locally, plus there's certainly going to be photography classes! Check out your adult education classes, and the WEA, and there are likely to be other local groups too. The library would have details.
