Get your hugs here! (Or from gitdog).

Well done WaS for holding out for such a long time despite the pain and confusion. I'm sure the data you've assembled will be very useful to your medical team (I include you in that, of course :) ) xxxx

    Spare hug assortment ((((((((((((((((((()))))))))))))))))))

(I'm also very tempted by colouring books! Aren't they beautiful!)

  • I think I might get one of those colouring books. :)

Thank you for the hugs. WaS, I also think you've done really well to hold out and still have the presence of mind to note down how you're feeling!

Has anyone on here ever been to a group therapy session? I've been booked into a low self esteem one and I'm nervous. Sorry if I have already mentioned my chat to the counselling people but my head is all over the place.

And sorry for being self-centred. :(

Oi! No apologies for 'being self centred' (which you're not being) on here. This is the place where we are all heard for a little while :D ((())) x

I've never been to a group therapy session - at least, I used to attend group sessions in my counselling training, so I suppose that might count :o I would hope that a really good session might be a bit like on here, where we can all say what we feel and help each other!

*sneaks in at the back* ...could I have a hug please? It's been a bad few days with the depression and it seems to have just hit me all at once in the last few minutes.

Sorry to be a pain :(

(((HUGS))) HBS - you can have as many hugs as you like, my dear :)

WaS - that sounds like an excellent decision! I love small, secure spaces too.

I think its why (penguined for safety) one of my big BDSM kinks is pet play and bondage, though only with someone I trust entirely otherwise its hugely triggering. It gives me a chance to not have to worry about looking after myself and feels wonderfully refreshing.

Lots of hugs and biccies for anyone who needs them atm. I'm going for a shower then smothering myself in coconut oil - opoid induced dehydration, itchiness and v sensitive skin is a very annoying combination!

Not self-centred at all HBS. This is your safe place - vent, rant, whinge, cry, appeal for hugs and biscuits - whatever helps, feel free!

    Take care xx.
  • You aren't being at all self-centred, HBS! I used to go to group therapy and found it quite useful. You won't be expected to say much for the first couple of sessions if you don't feel able to, you can just listen and jump in if you want to. I found I started off by trying to help other people by offering them suggestions or relating parts of my life to show them that I knew how I felt. Eventually, I moved on to talking about how I felt. There won't be any pressure at all so don't worry, the most you will have to do is say your name in the first session.

Hugs HBS, sorry you've had some bad days, hope things look up again soon. :)

Well done on coping so long without your meds WaS! It was a good exercise to see just how you're really doing but enjoy the relief they bring now!

I'm another one who burns at the hint of a bit of sun! All summer my first job is to make sure I've got factor 50 all over before I even get dressed! :o My DH is the same. Funnily enough though, because we both have sensitive skin and burn easily we've always looked after ourselves and we both have good skin and look younger than we are as a result. Well, we've aged terribly since having DS as 6 months with broken sleep took its toll and we haven't quite bounced back, but until then we both looked much younger than our years! ;)

I also have a colouring book for grown ups. :) I got it cheap in The Works if anyone is after one it's worth having a look!

  • We all seem prone to burning! The last time I visited my teacher friend I sat in his garden for 15 minutes and my arms and face were bright red and hot to the touch. The next day I was very sore and my skin fell off. My antibiotics I take every day also make me prone to burning and darkened skin pigmentation in patches and my eyes are light sensitive so I get awful headaches if I am out in the sun for long. All of that coupled with the fact that my temperature control is a mess so I am always hot is why I don't get on well in summer! It is the worse time of year for me by far.

Funnily enough, I look younger than my age, too. Most people assume I am mid to late 30's. I am sure a lot of it is so many years inside without being exposed to weather conditions and general pollutants of everyday life. This is lucky because a lot of the time I act like I'm 10.

    (((Hbs)))

WaS that cell thing makes sense to me. When I'm anxious I just want to be in a safe place with as little stimulation as possible.

Another ghost here. My skin is almost blue. I use factor 50 and take extra vitamin d but I do spend lots of time outside so maybe I look my age. But, you can really tell which of the people I went to school with used sunbeds a lot - some of them look at least 10 years older.
