  • Well I feel a little better today - did a lot of FB firefighting as my squad had a fallout. Thankfully it seems to be sorted now but that's what was stressing me.

Onwards and upwards...thank you so much everyone.

Melly, I'm going to give you some tough love here. Your throat is not going to heal on a quarter of a smoothie a day, particularly if you're doing 20,000 steps. It's just not enough for your body to be able to do the healing thing - and you know this. You need a good probiotic taken at a different time to your antibiotic for the side effects and you need more calories. You cannot look after DH and Mr cat and the dogs if you do not take care of yourself.

    Lecture over.

I'm back home from Spain, still with a head cold, so am in bed. (Told you it was an early flight! Left Spain at 6.45 am which was 5.45 BST!)
There was a big holdup at bag checkin, (online checkin had already been done), due to computers being down, which meant a rush through security to the gates, no time for a drink, let alone the duty-frees. :(
I'd paid a little bit extra for priority boarding, so didn't have to wait in yet another great long queue to get on the plane, which was good as I really wasn't feeling well and just wanted to sit down.
Stuffed washing in machine, made a pot of tea and went to bed. Oops! Washing has finished so I'll get it on hangers and then back to bed.

Sorry to hear about your throat, Mellymoo.
Glad you're a bit better, Heartbreakstar.

I don't burn, I go brown, but I don't want to go brown as is makes your skin leathery and wrinkly and increases the chances of melanoma, so I always wear Factor 30 or 50, wear a wide-brimmed sunhat, and sit in the shade under a parasol! And I still go brown! Grrr! :rotfl:

So true, JM. When you're not feeling well, abroad is the worst place to be. Luckily, past experience ensured that I was well stocked up with medicines etc., and the hotel room was a little apartment with a kitchenette, which meant I could make a big pot of tea, and get some cheese and biscuits from the hotel 'supermarket' to have for lunch etc. and just fester. The airport was the worst thing.
