:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

Hummingbirds sounds lovely! And they are such pretty colours too :) Cross-post with Pyxis, Sunangels seems perfect to me, what do others think?

My freezer got switched off accidently, so this morning I'm cooking all the food to then refreeze it after. Sigh

Oh! I bought a blue and turquoise wig!! Is so weird to see myself with straight hair instead of dreadlocks, but I love it!

    I'm in a clique! It's a clique of one! It's a unique clique!
    I love

  • My husband would love me to have blue or purple hair :) I might try one of those colours that comes out after three washes.

I think I am too old at 65, but he says you are never too old and I do have long hair with a fringe ( Like in my photograph, which is relatively recent).

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

Lovely as "sunangels" is, we don't want to risk sounding too cliquey or jargony as that might scare off the very people we are looking to embrace. I agree it would be nice to have an alternative to lurkers, but it is an established term. Sunangels/lurkers would at least explain the term.
I have dipped my toe in some other threads, lurked if you will, and found the terminology hard to get my head around. For fear of using it wrongly, or sounding like a twonk, I stayed away. Of all the threads, we don't want that happening here. If we can find an obvious alternative, great, otherwise, I'm not so sure.

Def try the colour, SDW :) Blue tends to wash out quickly so if you don't like it, it won't be for long. I just got a cheap wig from e**y as I don't have the energy or movement to bleach and dye my hair atm.
Pyxis, the wig was about a tenner.

Solarjunkie, that is a good point. Hmm. Using both might be a good idea

I have had a lie in despite my good intentions to get up, go for a run then head into the garden.
I am putting the blame firmly on Gitdog who was attention seeking by rattling his bowl around the kitchen and boinging the baby gate till gone 2am. He's best ignored in that mood, but I do lie there wondering what we he's doing that he shouldn't be which isn't conducive to nodding off.
Hope everyone gets a good weekend -or as good as you can do given the circumstances Melly and anyone else who's struggling, posters and lurkers all.
Actually, can anyone good with words think of a better word than lurker?
I don't particularly consider myself good with words, but perhaps the word you're looking for is "bystander".
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

    Bystander looks good.

    Also what about
    Observer
    Acquaintance
    Beholder
    Onlooker
    Associate
    Audience
    Friend
    Neighbour

(thesaurus also suggests voyeur, but I think we'll leave that one!:rotfl:)

Hope you're feeling better soon whitewing x Colds are miserable :(

The wig sounds awesome dragonette! Turquoise is one of my favourite colours. :)

Just watching the Leaders Debate that I recorded the other night. All I'm hearing at the moment is blah blah blah, seriously, no ones said anything yet that makes me believe in them. Although having said that, I do think I know who I'm going to vote for.

Audience would be guaranteed to send WaS running for the hills.
Bystander or onlooker both sound good.
