You can pm me anytime, whitewing!
I hope you have a good time with friends and family over Easter, it will just WaSp and I here but I do have a roast dinner and Easter eggs planned and tomorrow I attempt to cook a Simnel cake which may work or may not.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

I have done some work! Not much admittedly, but enough that I now feel I can come back and play :rotfl:.
GG - thank you for sharing about your Dad. He sounds lovely. I hope that, over time, your many happy memories become more of a comfort to you.
I am much closer to my Dad too. I get on fine with my Mum (it's her birthday today), but it's just not the same. My Dad just 'gets' me. Like you, he's the only person that compliments me when I'm looking far from my best!
Wish there was something I could say that would help. Am thinking of you xx.0 -
oh georgie, your dad does sound lovely. I was daddy's girl too - I think closer to him and further from my mum than either of my sisters. And I have married someone who is very like him in lots of ways! I am so glad they got to know each other. Heart shaped pebbles - maybe a rockery of them in his memory? It could be your special place to remember him.
Looking forward to the happy exciting thing...

You could buy yourself an Easter present from your dad, georgie

The heat detectors are done! They will be back in an hour to test them and then it's over. They let WaSp keep the old alarms because they're so cheap they aren't worth keeping hold of. He is now in his element taking them apart, he loves electronic things.
What a lovely idea, whitewing!
Hahahaha! WaSp is even happier now! The fire alarm man just gave him the entire old alarm control box that used to be in the hall. They would just throw them away whereas WaSp will take apart the circuit boards and use them for other things. Awww, good and bad! I do love hawks, though. Every year I watch a pair care for their children on live webcam, so far this year there are 2 eggs!
We have been adopted by the alarm fitters, this is what happens when you give people tea and cake. Not only has WaSp got all of the old fire fittings, we have been told where the secret key to control the main box is hidden in case anyone steals the communal one. I am now workmen free for 4 days at least!
Ps. I have the fitters mobile number in case anything goes wrong. Today I got a volunteer firemans number, things are going well.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France
