I am trying that new salonist hair dye. So far seems alright bit fiddly but I quite like that.
Once my black is done I shall redo my white bits, stick some heavy duty conditioner on, do my eyebrows then make smoothies, walk dogs and NVQ if I can get in the right frame of mind.
I have found something else I can stomach, steamed kale.0 -
Sounds like a good day, Mellymoo!

Not sure how much I need to eat to function tho0 -
Thank you WaS. Thanks for trusting us enough to tell us and for the excellent insight on what its like to live with your illnesses.
Melly, to work out how much you need to live on, you need to calculate your basal metabolic rate (bmr) i.e based on your heigh and weight and activity level, the minimum you need to eat to survive.
Here is a link to one.
I am still sick with a heavy cold and a barking cough (like a sea lion) and have been in bed all weekend.

Today is Mother's day which is very much a trigger day for me as its just a reminder that I am not and never will be a mum. All over facebook there are messages for all my friends that I am left out of. Thankfully one of the dog rescue places I follow posted a Happy Mothers Day message for all fur mummies so not totally left out. My fur baby is currently washing my feet everytime I cough so I guess he loves me.
Its also difficult because of the family dynamic. Everyone shows up at my mum's today so its noisy and there's nowhere to sit and my mum and dad are running about making drinks and getting snacks and there are some very badly behaved children underfoot everywhere which is anxiety inducing as my dad isn't too steady on his feet and has fallen over them and present buying is very competitive. Its also annoying as they make no effort the rest of the year but seem to expect medals for bringing her some flowers on one day. This cold means I wont have to go and can visit when its quieter. Am I a bad person for feeling glad about that?Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
Code, big hugs. I think I'll be staying off fb for my sanity today.0

Probably for the best. I forgot until I saw the messages this morning.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0

Ha ha, code - remember the badly behaved children and be glad that they aren't yours and you can walk away from them! I don't have kids and I think that I am glad*.
How very wise and loving of the dog site to realise that you ARE a mum. You are contributing to the world by nourishing your dogs with love and food! xxxx
WaS - I agree about the war zone. That must be so tiring. Just remember that psychosis is widely documented as a healthy response to intolerable conditions. Your childhood was bound to produce somethingxxxxxxx and hugs ((((())))) And thank you for posting - I'm sure there will be lots of people lurking who find that very helpful.
*I've just re-read this and hope it doesn't come across as laughing at you. I'm not, I am sympathising, just encouraging you to see the other side. You can be a strong, vibrant and lovely woman, as I'm sure you are, without kids ((((()))))Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -

It's ok JM. Most of the time I'm very happy that the screaming brat (especially one in particular) are not mine. There's no escaping the fact that if you have no kids you are treated as a second class citizen, especially in my family. But I am fabulous anyway.mellymoo74 wrote: »Just had to go out wearing a shower cap with a wooly hat on and eyeore jammies. Dogs decided they really needed a wee
The joys of fur babies!! I'm sure nobody noticed.
Eta: Have to call my mum and tell her I'm too sick to visit. Cue massive guilt.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
One of my neighbours was about, had a chat about football and he pointed out that I looked very elegant so nope I was caught. Lying down now with hat and shower cap on.
Dogs decided they really need a cuddle0
