Its where you typically press the print screen button, that the captures all that is on your screen at the current time and copies it to your clipboard, you can then for example open paint and paste it into it :)

Whilst on the subject of mental health rants, would anyone but me be surprised at nurses on a locked ward knowing so little about mental health law that they were giving patients seriously incorrect information? I know that's why there are IMHAs, but I expected them to know the basics, if nothing else.

I'm with you on the being bipolar programme, MU. I know very little about it, but I picked up on the biases fairly quickly as well. She didn't seem the most open minded of presenters.

Just collected Gitdog from parent. Parent has been teaching him to present a paw. This has not been a quick process. Once he'd got the gist and in an attempt to prompt him to engage his little grey cells, she decided to try to teach him to do alternate feet. This was too much for his poor befuddled brain, and after waving one paw around to no avail, he pondered for a few minutes then decided to present both at once. Followed by a gentle backwards somersault as it sank in that that bull terriers are not designed to sit up and beg.
He does cheer me up after a long day.

Yes, but what you can't see is the scaffolding holding that one up from the other side!

    Another gitdog fan here.

I haven't seen the bipolar programme yet, we have it to look forward to on the recorder for the weekend. Sounds horrendous though. People don't come with a much more anti-medication stance than me, but even I always say 'apart from bipolar, where loads of people are really helped by meds' (I also say, nowadays, 'I know there's been loads of progress and there are some really good antipsychotics nowadays, and psychiatrists are much better than they used to be'.) How incredibly STUPID not to acknowledge the biochemical basis of some mental illness!

In other news, I've had my own stressful day. I felt really awful and like going home this morning - really really stressed out. It took me a while to realise that quite a lot of it was caused by low blood sugar following a fast. I'd taken my car for service first thing, and last time I went there were croissants, so I hadn't eaten anything. There were none :(

Anyway, as far as work went I perked up once I realised I was on a sugar low and not as stressed as I thought, and perked up again once I'd eaten.

    However.....

When I took the car in the morning (10am as requested) I asked when it would be ready, and was told between 4.30 and 6. I expressed surprise (it was just a service and MOT) and said I needed it as early as possible as I had a rehearsal the other end of London at 7. The MOS was almost borderline rude and more or less said it would be ready when it was ready.

I rang during the day for an update, only to be told that their internal phones were down. I asked for a message to be sent through and they assured me that someone would ring to let me know how things were going.

At around 4.30, Mr JM told me just to GO to the place to put pressure on them, and to get there as soon as possible. (Sorry WaS - this is when the pressure really hit! ;) ) I was a bit heavy laden as I had a heavy bag and instrument, so left the bag at work (cos I wasn't sure that I would even GET the car back!)

Short version - after being seated I was ignored for well over half an hour. At 6.15 they told me they had finished (very minor!) work on the car but hadn't cleaned it, and did I want to wait for another half an hour for it to be cleaned? By that time I was so bloody furious (and had already told my colleagues I would be late) that I decided to wait - after all, you pay for the valeting as part of the extortionate (nearly £400) cost!

Almost unbelievably, and in direct contradiction to what I had requested and had been agreed the previous day, they MOT'd the car before servicing it, and told me the car had failed its MOT and had to be resubmitted. You can be sure I told them EXACTLY what I thought of the idea of doing the work in this order, especially as I had clearly checked that the service would be done first. Compete morons! ( I would say other things if this place didn't have a swear filter.)

I finally made it to my 7pm rehearsal at 8.45. Over an hour's journey each way for just over an hour's playing. I did point out to them that I am ready to change my car and had thought I would buy another the same, but I've now decided that I can't face another service experience with them, so will be buying a different car.....
Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).
