Forgot to update how the meeting went yesterday (i was evidently distracted by the pre date date :o)

Met with area manager and someone from occ health. They were surprisingly nice to me. They explained it was just a meeting to see if they can offer any extra help (apparently we have an independent employee assistance phone line i can call 24/7), and we talked about my shifts and the fit note restricting my hours/not being on early shifts. They agreed that from a business pov its working for them to have me on late shifts so that can stay, they want to have another meeting in 3 months to see if the same restrictions apply and whether they need to make it a more permenent thing (which tbh is what i want, i;d like it made as a reasonable adjustment of possible). The woman from occ heakth was nice, she seemed to have an understanding of bipolar and mentioned she's dealt with other people in the company with it. So that reassures me. Overall it went ok and i was basically worrying over nothing as per usual! :o

mellymoo, how are you? Has something gone wrong?

MessedUp, that's great news! It's good to hear there are some enlightened employers!

JM, it's soooo annoying when that happens, isn't it? I've never understood why it happens. Is it an MSE thing?

It's a pain to do, but the only way to avoid it is to write out the post elsewhere and then copy/paste it onto a post. Not practical when you're referring to people's exploits, and of course, you don't always know when a post is going to end up being a long one!

Hi pyxis yes SIL provoked argument with MIL and OH. Then threatened OH with police. Then her and 1 of nephews shouted mouths off and I lost my rag no sleep at work today

Think about me today. I'm a volunteer to help run a Job Club, I am a trained Job Coach for the charity CAP.

It's today and I am dreading it. I have dreaded it every week for several weeks now. I think it's because my husband and I have various stresses in our lives at the moment and I am a bit depressed.

I'm telling myself, 'I'm not a coach, I'm not a facilitator, teacher, enabler or social worker (all things I have to be on occasions at Job Club), I'm an administrator, that is where my strengths lie, just let me set the computers up or fill some forms in, I can't coach people or help them set realistic goals, that's not what I'm good at.'

The Job Club manager assures me I am perfectly capable, but I'm still dreading it. I will go however, it lets a lot of people down otherwise.

Friday my husband and I are off to Caernarfon for a couple of days and staying in a hotel, you can't imagine how much I am looking forward to it.

    Sorry for rambling.

Your weekend away sounds lovely SDW, bet that's a beautiful bit of the world. Hope you have a lovely relaxing time. Also hope the Job Club goes ok today and is less stressful than you're expecting. I'm sure you're doing a grand job and I bet there are people you've really helped - tough though when it's so out of your comfort zone and you start dreading it.

Melly - hope today's a better day and that SIL and the others wind their necks in.

MU - great news. I work in a small occ health dept in a huge company. I know I'm biased but we really do try to help. It can be scary for people when they get referred to us as they don't always understand what we're there for. Good to hear it went ok.

elsien - sometimes a good dose of honesty is just what people need!

code - nothing to lose by just speaking to the agency. Sometimes it's nice just to know there are other options, even if you don't pursue them futher. Or it might be your dream job!

hbs - hope it went ok at the doctors.

WaS - you enjoying the builder-free surroundings? Must seem quiet there now after all the excitement!

pyxis, whitewing, JM, birdie, and everyone else - big hugs!

SDW -- I'm sure you're better than you think at Job Club. You come across as being very approachable and helpful so people probably trust you.

Melly - to quote from "Let it go" - 'The past is in the past' (sing it with me people). So errm, let it go and try again today.

MU - glad it went well. Its always nerve wracking.

Tea - pretty sure my dream job is rubbing oil on Roman Reigns. I don't think its that kind of agency.

Waves and hugs to everyone else.
