You can do it, WaS!, you can do it!
Just tell yourself it's just one day. Get your escape route to different rooms planned out.
Get your blankets ready, one in each room.
Put Sir P. on stand-by for extra cuddles.
Have drinks and sustenance on hand in each room, so you won't have to leave that room while they're working on another.
Go to the loo at every opportunity, so you're not desperate to go while the bathroom is invaded!
If it's any consolation, I'm feeling really scared today. My super-busy/feeling unwell week is over, which means I have to face up to the Big Worry I mentioned a little while ago. Can't put it off any longer, and I'm terrified. Didn't help that I had a horrible dream last night and woke up seriously perturbed.
It's really not an insurmountable problem, but I've gone into child mode about it.(I just lurve spiders!)

Morning team WaS - seems like there's quite a few hugs needed today. *puts kettle on in duvet fort*
The scales have well and truly fallen from my eyes over the last week or so. Just.Move.Out.Already
FOH has spent the weekend trying to convince me to do his ironing (declined), trying it on (definitely declined) and generally being drunk and annoying.
Came back from 12hr drinking session last night and announced he wanted 50% more money than we've agreed on or he's not leaving. The amount has been agreed for months, and it really is fair (I know I would say that lol, but it really is). It's based on a realistic sale price for a start - heaven knows where he was getting his figures from.
Told him I wasn't getting into a big discussion while he was drunk - but the amount has been agreed many, many times. It's the figure I'm remortgaging on, and it's the one my solicitor is working with (all true). If he wants to start changing it now he'll need to speak to a solicitor. Am pretty sure he'll take the path of least resistance as he is beyond lazy.
I'm genuinely not fleecing him! If he does start demanding more money, I will get my solicitor to counter-claim for 1/2 the legal fees for when we bought the house, and all of the fees for selling his flat and the thousands I spent on extending the leasehold so it would sell (in addition to all the fees I spent selling my own house). I was supposed to be paid back for this but have never seen a penny of it. I also found out (after we'd bought and were financially linked) that he had over £20k of debt he hadn't mentioned before . I spent nearly 2yrs paying double what he did into the joint account (he earns more) to cover the bills so he could focus on paying off his debts. I spent many, many hours reclaiming PPI for him, including appealing to the ombudsman. Got him about £5k. When his debts were paid off, he went back to paying half of joint bills - even when I lost my job and was temping 2 days a week, he still didn't pay any more.
When I got some money from my grandad, it went on a massive garage he wanted. Ok, it's technically a joint thing but I've only been in there maybe 3 times. When he got some money from his dad he bought a v expensive new mountain bike (to go with the two he already had).
Sorry for the ramble, just needed to get it all out somewhere. I have busted a gut to sort his finances out over the last 4 years and he's gone from £20k+ debt to a healthy account in the black. Instead of being grateful or offering to pay back some of what he owes, he is trying to take tens of thousands he's not entitled to.
Grr!!!!!!!!!!! :mad::mad::mad:0 -
((((Pyxis)))) would it help to talk about it? I'm sure whatever it is, you can face. We're all here holding your hand.
WaS, you can do this, and you have a cast iron excuse for remaining under the blanket. I agree with the food and drink in every room thing. It will all be over with soon.
Afm, trying to work out if it would look bad if I work from home again. I did it quite a bit last week because my face is sore. Its cold and windy here which doesn't help, it snowed again and my face still hurts but I don't want to look like I'm taking the wee. Sigh.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
Tea, we cross posted. Good morning.
(((Tea lover))). Hopefully it was just the drink talking and he'll realise what a Richard Head he's being. It must be so difficult still living with him.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
Yes, Tea, I'm amazed at what you've given him already! If he persists with this extra claim, I would list all the things you've paid out for and give him the list, and ask if he'd like you to claim that back?
Seems to me you've gone so far beyond the bound of duty that you're in danger of falling off the edge of the world! No need to concede a penny more, IMO.
Code, tricky to discuss it on a public forum. I'll have a think.(I just lurve spiders!)

Thanks peeps - feel better for a rant lol!
Apart from that, actually had a nice weekend (as he was in the pub the whole time so I got some peace). Just got a horrible feeling he's not actually going to go!
Have a meeting with mortgage people this afternoon - wish me luck
WaS - I like the idea of some drinks/snacks and blankets in each room. Hope they get finished soon x.
Pyxis - lots of luck with the Big Worry. Hope it's all sorted soon. You can do this! *does little cheerleader dance*
code - stuff it, work from home! You're still working, just not commuting. Was snowing here this morning, was not impressed!0 -
Pyxis, didn't mean to pressure you. Don't worry if you can't tell. We'll still stick the cheerleader outfits on.

Hugs for elsien and WaS and Tea and Pyxis and everyone else who needs them!
I am feeling much more upbeat today despite the sandpapered-brain-Monday-morning feeling...harmony is restored on my sports team. I gave them an absolute bollocking, read out and laid down the rules, and they all thankfully buckled and apologised!
Hope everyone's day gets better from here.

Sounds like there's a case of the Mondays going on in here! Tea and biscuits for everyone!
Hope the windows are done quickly WaS and the headache goes away, sounds awful. At least after today you should have new windows and no more stress about the fact that they're getting done at some point!
Tea- FOH was probably getting wound up by a drinking buddy claiming that he should be asking for more... without knowing what he's talking about! Hope it was just the drink talking and he leaves quickly and without much stress. I'd start packing for him now as you know he's so lazy he'll take a year to get his stuff together to actually go!I'd also draft up a counter claim and leave it lying around for him to 'accidentally' find and shock him!
Oh and well done to going to the meet up! :T
Good luck dealing with the Big Worry Pyxis, hope you can face it without too much pain.
Code- work from home if your face hurts. I find that if I work from home I do work better so it's not like you're taking the pee, you're actually working rather than calling in sick!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Birdie - me too, I get loads more done when I work from home! I can easily spend an entire day in the office and do about 5 mins of actual work lol.0
