Just to say that I'll be out all day at a workshop and won't be able to get online, so I'll catch up this evening.

Hope that WaS is ok, :A and Tealover,:A and Geminilady :A

I'm not happy. Just found out there is a problem not of my making with my DBS which means for now I cannot work unaccompanied. This is a logistical nightmare and means at the moment I can't do my job effectively. Am now worrying about all the visits I have arranged that I now can't do. Bloody HR.

  • Oh no Elsien! Hope it gets sorted soon! Massive hugs.

    Enjoy your workshop Pyxis :)

MU, I always stay in hostels whenever I'm going anywhere on my own. It's usually London - I stay in St Christopher's Inn or The Clink, and they're very much like the YHA Joan described :)

Oh dear, sounds annoying Elsien! Hope it gets sorted quickly, HR can be a nightmare sometimes! Not being HR-ist, just speaking from experience! ;)

Hope you enjoy the workshop and you're feeling better Pyxis. :)

How are you feeling this morning Code?

I must admit that I've never stayed in a hostel and wouldn't like to (strangers in my own space = Shared bathrooms with said strangers =:eek:) but my friends do it quite often and have stayed in them all over the place and seem to like them so for one night I'm sure it'll be fine. :) Not sure if this will help, but there's a 10% off code floating about for Expedia so might make a hotel more affordable? :)

Hope you're OK WaS and you didn't have any more scary dreams last night xx

I haven't caught up with the thread yet, or even read the article that I am linking in, but it reminded me of WaS..

Anyone seen the ads for the upcoming channel 4 programme about living with bipolar? I find some of their documentaries sensitive and informative, and others are more sensationalist. Will be interesting to see which way this one goes.

    Good morning Team WaS.

I've decided to try a Vitamin B-12 patch to see if that helps with the nerve pain. So we'll see. Apparently a deficiency in B-12 can be a big factor in nerve pain but the NHS don't seem to test for it. I've certainly never had a blood test. So I'm giving this a go, as I'm tired of being fobbed off. I have to wear this patch for 24 hours then take it off and put on a new one next week. So far I've had it on for about 13 hours. Can't say I've noticed much difference but I did sleep well.

I am also trying to pick up a few words of Portuguese for our upcoming trip. I speak a little Spanish so I hope I don't get then mixed up.

  • morning all!

Thanks elsien, I will look out for that programme! I can't tell whether it's your HR people (who I loathe, long story but we have crossed swords before) or DBS that you should be blaming. Unacceptable that they haven't warned you before, though, so you could plan your diary to take account of it!

A lovely positive thing from Jack (remember I like her, I know some of you don't.) It does contain a small penguin in that it refers to a death, but only obliquely.

I'm going to work on this, finding things that give me joy - and I'll try to remember to enjoy my trip to work later (I am finalising a project proposal first.)

I think I have a full-blown narcissist on the dance team that I coach. She hasn't technically broken any rules but she's spreading a LOT of discord. I am keeping my fingers crossed she carries out her threat to leave...but worry she'll try and tear us down for some perceived wrong if she does. I try to be sympathetic but it's really hard. :( I'd put it down to teen hormones but she is in her twenties and a mum...
