Poor WaS. This is when the burkha would come in handy.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0

Could WaSp put the (empty) cupboard of doom in front of the window, arranged so that the workmen can still do their job but you can't really see them. (I can't remember if WaSp is there right now).:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

I managed a sandwich due to the fact they have all gone for lunch! It is so peaceful! No sign of the window fitters yet...Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

See? You are coping! You are dealing with the day as it happens, giving suitable responses, eg - now it's quiet I'm going to get a sandwich. :T
Well done you.
Being more energy efficient with better windows is very MSE, Martin would be proud of you too.
ps - hope that sandwich came with a drink.........:pDeal with things as they are, not as they should be.0 -
Yes, drawing the curtains would be good!
Otherwise WaS, you might need a chamber pot under the blanket!
Hugs to Gingernutty, Codemonkey,Heartbreak star and Lostsoulfoever who are sleep-deprived. What is the weather blowing in at the moment?
Well, my Wednesday appointment happened and the Legal Obligation has been done.
In the process I discovered that other things that should have been done, weren't, which could have had serious or at least costly consequences. You trust people to do a job you're paying them for. Is it any wonder I constantly feel ripped off when things like that happen?
Now, I need work done on my house, I've wanted this work done for several years, but all but a few workmen have caused me a lot of grief in the past, so I'm put off. All I ask for is a reasonably good job done at a reasonable price in a reasonable time frame, without lies and bu115hitting. Is that really too much to ask?
So, first stress over.
Second stress is, unfortunately, a longer time frame, unless I get a favourable answer to my email next week, which is a long shot, but worth an ask.
I did go to three separate classes yesterday, all of which I knew I'd have a good laugh at, which did help dispel the adrenalin a bit.
I've just a huge piggy lunch and a glass of ginger cider, so I'll probably go to bed in a mo and doze or just veg in front of stupid TV.
Very self-indulgent, but I don't care.(I just lurve spiders!)

Yay for first stress being over, Pyxis! I am crossing everything that the second one is dealt with for you next week! You deserved that ginger cider!
Hahahahahaha! I am having a glass of water right now, Solar!
The door is complete! It has been sanded down so it opens easily (I couldn't open it myself before, it was that tight) so now it passes fire regulations. Next step the windows, I hope...Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Ginger cider? That sounds WONDERFUL!!!! Where do you get said nectar?
I can recommend my builders, I think, if you are in/near London. Mr JM would disagree, but I think his standards are impossibly high. I would say that they do a reasonably good job done at a reasonable price in a reasonable time frame, without lies. I don't think you can EVER avoid a certain amount of bull, sadly, but if you know it when you see it you can see through it, IYSWIM. PM me if you would like details (and no offence taken if you wouldn't. And I promise there is nothing in it for me, BTW.)Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -

Thanks JM, but I'm not near enough, unfortunately.
Oh the cider, it's Bulmers, not very strong! It's apple cider with ginger and cardomom, and it is nice! From Sainsbury's. I had a lovely scrummy one from Waitrose called Old Mout cider! That was even nicer! Passion fruit and apple. They also do a kiwi and lime one. Both makers also do a summer berries one but I haven't tried that.(I just lurve spiders!)

*swans in elegantly*
Hello all! I just thought I'd come in from a break in chasing workmen's ankles, to tell you about this very important event, which I thought you might enjoy.
Sadly, MSE says I am too new to post links. But you need to type buzzfeed.com ,then to to this.

Ouch! Sir P has nipped my ankle too, and 'persuaded' me to post the whole link.
