Lilt - thank you, its rubbish having the skin of a new born mouse your whole life. I've often wondered what went wrong with my layer development. That said, I have an uncanny way of seeing the woods for the trees and am usually right about people because of it. The downside is I often withdraw because I find it all too much. What a lovely idea about the valentines card. I may use something along those lines in any case. Really sorry you are not feeling well, it may be time to see the GP as you say?
Sazzle - Thank you so much. I think it must be so hard for small children to really articulate what they are feeling. But I also feel relationships with our parents last a lifetime, if done right. I want to show him I care.
Calling -I remember when my son was about 4, he once said when he grew up he wanted to marry his friend, a little boy, but knew he couldnt. I pointed out that he could if he liked. To which I got a surprised sounding 'oh' & never heard about it again. So hard to know what to tell kids today!
Anyway, thanks all, again appreciate not really on topic, but didnt feel like schalapping off to the family room!" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Calling -not really. I don't think it's about their relationship. Just that he feels stung by the amount of attention it's getting the other boy. My concern was more that a 6 year old boy doesn't feel special. I know you have to be careful reading to much into everything but if there's anything I can do to address a potential low self esteem issue now I'd love to. He's my first so it's hard as I have nothing to compare it to.
Hi everyone-yippee it's friday :T
Bob- you have my sympathies, my little one went through something similar , I think last year aged 5. I remember posting it on here as I felt quite upset for him. He had a 'girlfriend' who dumped him for his mate, as 'my sons trousers were rubbish and has rubbish hair' apparently! What broke my heart was when he said to me, 'now i feel I won't be good enough for anyone'He told his older brother. His response? Rubbish trousers? They're Ralph Lauren (he's a teenager and as he picked them out felt insulted-never mind his brothers distress  I tried to reassure him that he is not rubbish and he is just as good as everyone else and to me and the rest of the family, no one could be sweeter, kinder or better. Yes, the cliche stuff that only a mum would come out with
Butin time, they all became friends again and I'm hoping he feels good in himself now. It is hard, I know, as like you I wished I could magic his hurt away. They do get through it though
Mothernerd, the visualisations have really helped my hormonal, miserable moods-thank you :T I think what was getting me down is I want to clear the debt NOW and cannot so am feeling miserable trying to go to maximum, but realising, I'll be short somewhere. Now I'm just sticking to August and keeping going slowly but surely, as I have been doing. I cannot believe we are coming to the end. Thank you so much for a great challenge Mothernerd and all those that have picked up the baton before also. It is great to have this forum of friends to retreat to :T
Thrifty, you've done a great job-loving next monthsWell take care everyone and have a lovely Friday evening

Hugs Bobarella and extra to pass on to your son.
Walked to hospital and back so a SFD for me. Ate a 10p sandwich for breakfast and another for lunch with a sixpenny bun (that's 2 and a 1/2p for all you babies) and had soup for tea so meals for the whole day came in under a pound (wish I could do that everyday). Washing mostly dried on the line and done a little de-clutter (only little bits so it's going to take a while before it's noticeable).
Really wanted to get the bus back from the hospital. I timed leaving so the bus would just have gone but there were people queuing. Was very slow but the bus I would have caught if I had waited was only just at the beginning of the Avenue when I was nearly home so saved time and money.
Need to pamper my feet next month as they are very dry. Smothered them in cream this morning but nurse was concerned. It will soon heal up now that I can reach my feet. Just need to do it often.
Today I am grateful for the NHS, for lemon buns and for getting there slowly. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Peekaboo folks
MagicCat my naughty spend was...:o:o £33 worth of lentils and spices from an online store. Worse still I sent Shyspender a link and got her off onto it :rotfl: - so addictive!! But I have 5 kilos of red lentils, (£8.86) and 2.5 kilos of green. Sumac & some coriander, fennel, celery & caraway seeds
Nom. All in all an excellent price for what I have got. Now I need t expand my repertoire to include it all!
Mothernerd the cream you need for your feel is called 'Flexitol Heel Balm' - you can get it at Boots etc but I am sure if you asked your doctor he would prescribe it, or some equivalent. It is made for diabetics who suffer with their feet. My Pop has it as he has absolutely no feeling in his feet and is now bed ridden and has bedsores on them toobut I have used it for years. I know funds are low, so maybe a Dr would prescribe it. It has 25% Urea in it. Urea allows your cells to retain more water, (which they are obviously mostly made up of) and boosts the moisture that way. Amazing stuff. My feet feel like silk.
Also I don't know how many people this might apply to, but people on certain types of income benefits, or with children & tax credit exemption cards can get over the counter meds free on something called the 'minor ailments service' via the NHS. It is in only a few pharmacies, but if you google the service you can tell them your area if it applies and it will tell you the nearest place participating in the service. It means kids medicines like calpol etc are free, but also other things, such as creams etc.
It was SFD 17 today. Will see if I can scrape tomorrow as one too. Jellytot is sickhas a bug, is off her food and being sick. She went to bed with a bottle of warm dioralyte instead of her usual soya milk.
But she has kept it down which is more than I can say for the calpol. Will probably end up staying in with her and have some potential parcel deliveries tomorrow so can't really go out.
Hugs to anyone who needs it. I blew the budget with my £33 of lentils etc. But I don't really mind as I got 10.5% cashback, and some amazing stuff at the cheapest prices I have seenmanaged to walk home all the month through though which is great news as I usually cave for a taxi
See you tomorrow for the final check-in. Thank you so much for the thread mothernerdit has been lovely, even eating frogs! xx

bob - it is so hard sometimes to kmow what to say to little ones. I try to tell dd how much I love her, that I think she's awesome, that I'm proud of her.
Can't believe Feb is nearly over - dance lessons for dd tomorrow, then 2 rugby matches for me while dd reads. Hopefully.
Today I am grateful for a good walk in the sunshine, for drying some bed linen on the line, for finding some bargainous books with dd, for dh calling, for the Marie Kondo inspiration that is resulting in tidy and organied drawers and lots of things for the ch shop.
Thank you so much mothernerd for this month.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Lilt thanks for the info but I will be fine. My feet are in good condition generally, no problems with feeling. It's just that since November I haven't been allowed to reach that far. The ban on keeping an L shape at all times only ended two weeks ago and it has taken a couple of weeks to get the stretch back. DS3 wouldn't put cream on my feet so apart from a couple of times when mum did it, they have had nothing (usually at least a once a week job, more if needed).
I smothered them this morning and then let it sink in before putting on clean socks but there were dry patches (heels and along the sides) by the time I got to my appointment. If necessary I can rub my feet together the way you do with your hands. Pampering is in the March challenge so it will be done.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
I know you don't *need* it for that... neither do I. I just find that one lot of that cream beats all others by 100x the efficiency!!
Yay for getting back to the point you can do it yourself though. You are doing so well!! x

Can't believe yesterday in ten months is christmas again, lol. Only joking, but this year is just racing by.
Bobarella one of our 5 year old cousins has a "girl friend" and they have "date nights". Very strange. DS will be 4 in May, probably won't be long till he's in that boat. All of our friends have girls (the ones his age group) and some are joking about marrying them off to DS. Better stop that. They grow up so quickly. A friends son is asking question at age 7 because he hears things from older kids in the primary play ground. Yes we are more open already than my parents ever were but I'm dreading the first question because I want to tell him the truth and the proper terms but still make it age appropriate, fine balance. Sorry went off on a tangent (blame the cidershere from the original problem. Just one more thing. I remember going to nude beaches before I was a teenager with my parents (quite normal in Germany) so naked bodies were no tabu to me, but once I became a teenager that stopped and my parents didn't know at all how to approach the subject of your changing body, sex etc. I definitely don't want to be like that. Sorry, just sth. that I remembered in relation to growing up children.
Anyway, back to the topic of this challenge. Started the March mini challenge early and begun to declutter the kitchen. Done the cabinet under the sink and the kids crockery. I think I already hit my target of getting rid of 31 things.
Also finished another two little crochet baskets and got some more pictures and descriptions ready for eb@y.
Anyway I better stop rambling. One my own as OH is out for a drink and just felt like "talking".

Oh sth lilt mentioned. At least up here in Scotland anyone can use the minor ailment system. You just have to be registered at the pharmacy. We used it before for Calpol etc for the kids and we don't get benefits or anything.
Hugs to everybody who has a hard time just now or sick kids. XxxDEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
It's Saturday - yay! Planning a final NSD - dance classes, rugby, reading and sewing. Dd is 'researching' little red riding hood costumes - ever since I wouldn't pay a fiver for one in a ch shop.
Have a great last day to Feb!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
