    Well Good Morning!

Had a try at doing this challenge thing and the March challenge is up. Hope that link works.

I try my best to list all contenders. If I miss some one out give me a shout. I'm ususally not much online apart from on my phone on weekends but i try and open the laptop once a night and then always do a proper catch up in my coffee break in work. Quite excited actually ;)

Ate half a frog last night. Got distracted by making houmous and a lovely fish dinner with odd lurking in the freezer. But managed to clear a path in the guest bedroom to reach the desk, pull out all the unsorted paperwork and put it into piles which will be filed away tomorrow. Also crochet a bit and read before bed.

Thanks Thrifty and Fmess for taking the time and trouble to run next couple of threads. As soon as get laptop up and working I will take my share.

Spent yday went to cineworld, bargain Tuesday and saw Pride what an inspirational film abs loved it. Nice to get out for a change. Going to pop out bit more often now weather looking bit brighter lol.

I am at a low with debt busting, think tried to pay off lot this year, need to somehow regain my passion for clearing this debt. Just know next month can't really pay anything off, due to unforeseen bills and reading how well everyone is doing, somehow makes me feel as if nothing is happening. Impatient that I am. Ignore me just lost my mojo.

Try and focus on the positive. Next month you'll have some big unforeseen bills, that you can pay without getting into more debt. Sometimes things not getting worse despite unforseen circumstances is good in itself.

You've been over at the new thread. Maybe the declutter theme will throw up some items that can be sold to generate some extra pennies to put against the debt?

  • Bless you Calling. Sometimes throwing yourself into this for so long gives you a bit of a burn out. Take some time out. You watched a lovely film yesterday and presume it was cheaper because Tuesday? We have offers Tuesdays in our local Cineworld.

thrifty is right.. you are paying unforeseen bills without going further into debt. That is FANTASTIC so don't knock it. It just shows how far you have come :) I am thinking there might be a pocket watch in a saucepan in the garage somewhere ;) you can be the Turtle millionaire!!

Trying for a SFD today. Would take me to 16 and I can't see that I need anything but I have itchy spending issues today for some reason. Wishing I could buy a big cake or something equally daft! Smack my hands and hide my purse turtles. I am aiming for 18 SFD's for the 4th month in a row now I have hit 15. :D xx

  • Thanks thrifty for setting up the new challenge. Calling, big hugs, I also get a bit obsessed with seeing the balance go down and get in a bit of a funk when I can't reduce it. Is there something else you could do this month as a challenge instead? As thrifty said, you could focus on the decluttering and selling some stuff and you might end up with cash to put to the debt at the end of March after all.
I'm off to try and buy a bike - arrrgggghh!

Rightio... so credit card is still above £3000. However, I did use it to buy my car insurance.
The daft thing is that I am starting to learn how this money thing works. I used t0pc4shb4ck so instead of paying £220 for my insurance, I am only paying £147 as I am getting a heap of money paid back to me.
    :D

I have done the same for the house insurance (£43 cashback) and changing our bank account (£36). My dad asked me to create a new bank account for him so I did that (another £36).
According to the website, if it all goes well, I am due about £223!!!!
    :j

All because I went through a different website rather than just doing a basic search.

    Anyways, sorry. Got distracted.
    :o

Another spend-free day today so am up to thirteen. Hooray!!
    :D

This is going to sound really awful and mean but we have started a new joint account so basically we both put in £900 and the rest of our wages is our own.
Well, I worked a heap of extra shifts in January and my payslip for these extra ships came in today.
I have made £490 extra. That is on top of my regular wage!!

The plan is to use some for a two night break in 2016 (have booked a cottage for six people right beside our wedding venue so that we can show our parents. we currently need to pay £176 to secure the cottage).
The rest will go on the credit card debt... on top of the amount I normally pay.
This will hopefull get me well below £3000 and far away from ever having to go near it again.
    :)

Erm... I might be a bit excited. Sorry.
    :o

Thanks for running the next challenge thrifty. It looks brilliant. And thanks to mothernerd for running this one. It's been great fun.

Calling -I feel your pain. I see so many people on here with massive debt, & feel I should be making better progress on the £5k I have around my kneck but some how there is always an extra bill.
Personally if things go to plan I will be able to throw around £1100 at my debt in April. But as my business is just reopening you can bet your bottom dollar that will bleep up my budget. But as long as we both keep aiming in the right direction we will get there eventually.

calling14 you'll be ok. Keep the positivity going! You have come so far - we are all here for you. Trust me I know the feeling!

I have had another SFD today so hoping to hit 14 by the end of the week now.

I have tried to sort out jobseekers but sadly I don't qualify as I have applied too late and starting a new job next week. Apparently I applied too late! So much for paying the tax 40% threshold. I will be lucky to get a week worth benefits.

Looking forward to getting to the end of feb now and will try and put another amount to my debts at the end of March. Good luck for final week of feb turtles x
