Another SFD for me today which takes me to 14/15 so should be able to reach this target.

I have the grand sum of £7.74 to last until the end of the month in my grocery budget and £1.43 in the pets budget but as I only anticipate buying milk before the end of Feb I should be under budget.

Not doing so well on the Birthday/Social budget as I'm currently £11.82 over budget but no further costs expected.

My Christmas 2015 fund will be topped up with a little over £30 at the end of the month. This comes from multibuy savings and vouchers I have used throughout the month. In addition to this I have transferred some cashback onto my love2shop card as well.

Keep up the good work everyone.

  • Thrifty -Thanks for saving the day, I really appreciate it.

Mothernerd - more than happy to do another month, the only one I can't do is September, maybe October too.

Everyone - thanks for your support. I will survive, I'm determined, one of the reasons the focus has to change for a bit.

Signed up to March so will still be around.

Thanks for the wonderful new challenge thriftylass.

I know how you feel. My major contribution to debt busting atm is to get as much as possible of my debt back onto low rates by doing a fairly complicated cc shuffle. When I've done it, I am going to tot up how much interest it will save over the next twelve months just to cheer myself up.

I have dropped out of challenges a couple of times last year when I had no expectation of getting debts down - the repairs I needed to do to make the other house saleable were too high. However I found I was worse off not being in the challenge.

However I had expected to run out of money in mid-December, then survived that and successive months and I'm still here. My debts are less than some people's and more than others but my income is small to non-existent so any progress is at snail's pace. On paper I am rich as I have two houses but I'm dreading April when I will be paying Council Tax on them both again. Let's hope I can wrench my money back from futility before then so I can scrape through another month or two.

    Excellent cash back results Stewby.

Had another SFD but not got much done. I am sluggish and the laptop is slower.

Today I am grateful for bin men, for books and for helping hands.

Thanks for the new thread thrifty

Got another SFD today so I'm up to 13 now :) Might not manage another now though as have planned spends for the rest of the week. Also went swimming so that's another exercise session done (and walked the dogs).

Off to bed now as I'm knackered, night all

The voucher is in the Daily Mirror which I think is the Daily Record in Scotland.

  • Oh dear... Half-term just put me all out sync. Ive lost track completely although I'm pretty sure I managed enough SFDs! I would love to join March but I just know I won't be able to keep up as I'm fully booked with cakes and back to normal at work so I'm going to be rushed off my feet. I'll try pop back in April! Good luck everyone!

  • Hello turtles,

Sorry to miss checking in yesterday, had a crazy busy day in work and didn't get back til about 8pm, then went to bed! So lots to catch up with everyone.

A small spend on petrol yesterday, but should be a SFD today - unless I buy the paper for the Aldee voucher, a bit torn as I'm so near my SFD total, but will need to spend for parking for work on Firday and parking again when picking up my brother on Saturday. Hmm.

Thrifty - thanks so much for the new challenge, it looks great.:A

Shyspender - hope all is OK with you, take care of yourself.

Synonymous - hope bike buying went well, did you get anything?

Calling14 - hugs, it does get hard sometimes when it feels like such a long road and the unexpected suddenly gets in the way. So glad you had a nice cinema night to enjoy.

Stewby - that is amazing cashbacking, well done!:money:

Lilt - go on then, what did you buy? I hope it was something nice. I am thinking of losing today's SFD for the paper and aldee voucher, which is not even exciting.

Debtdrowinglondongirl - how annoying about jobseekers, it sounds like you have a start date soon though so that is good at least.

Cupcakequeen - hope all the cakes go well, take care of yourself and hopefully catch up with you in April - I am still so impressed by the rice krispie dinosaur!
