stewby I think if you paid yours he should pay his and then next time both should come out of the joint account.
Ok, I put sth together. So if no-one objects I'll do March.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Good evening everyone!
Sorry I can't help out with running the challenge at all but things are going to be hectic around hear until at least may time when I finish me degree.
Was in uni again this morning. Took food and drinks with me so it's been a SFD. Had physio for my bad back this afternoon and am feeling much more positive about managing it now.
Sold items have been collected and I actually sold the phone for £50, not £40!! Over £100 to pay into my savings account now which brings the total to £521.71. I know I could use this to pay down my debt, but for my own mental wellbeing, I need to build up an emergency fund for when my student finance ends in case I don't find a full time job straight away.
Haven't done much interview prep today (might get a sneaky few minutes to look at it in work tomorrow, but don't tell my boss!) but have done some more assignment work.0 -
Well done thrifty on stepping up for March. Have only just read this, ptherwise I'd have offered. (always safe to say that when someone else has offered, I know!!)
Good luck for Friday WelshKitty and well done on the sales. It's all pennies in your pocket. Andif it reduces stress, then it's extra worth it.
Stewby, I agree with thrifty re the car expenses.
Well done sazzle on the frog mumching and the run!
Hope things settle down, shyspender and calling. Fraid I can't offer for April as we'll be in texas for 2 weeks!
Today I am grateful for a good day at work, for getting in a decent lunchtime walk, for dd absolutely loving reading, for a call from dh who's now in Germanu, for not having to go to work tomorrow.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Welshkitty – I would be the same, as soon as I have money in my account I want to chuck it at the debt.Is there a time limit within which the garage can contest it?Also good look with the interview on Friday.
shyspender– hope all is ok with you
Well done on paying off your credit card sazzlebgood
I love how everyone pulls together, well done for volunteering thrifty, I’m sure everyone would be very grateful if you would do March.I can step in for April if you needs be?I am away for 7 days but as you said thrifty, we do a good job of looking after each other once someone sets us off (although all the mini challenges do keep me focussed - I've nearly ate my second frog :j )
applemuncher - are you allowed out of your school at lunch? I'm so jealous!
Today was a spendy day as needed the basics (bread, milk, sugar) so also got petrol. Also, my tutoring got cancelled at the last minute today so was a bit miffed as was hoping to make a small debt payment tonight before payday tomorrow. Agreed with OH that our monthly payday takeaway will wait until a spendy day, so tomorrow should be a SFD (I know its naughty but at one stage - when I was stressed and depressed - we probably had 5 a week!)
No exercise today as it was raining when I returned home and the eldest/elderly dog keeps crying every so often as if he is in pain. I'm hoping he just ate socks again and they'll pass through but he is old and has gained a lot of small lumps in the last few months, so we are constantly concerned about him
The next two months are going to be quite stretched financially for us. We are very lucky that my dad has decided to take the whole family on holiday in April but it does mean that we need to find the money for kennels for all the dogs, food whilst we are there and the cost for transfers to and from the airports. I am really looking forward to a holiday with my family but it will set me back slightly on my journey to being debt free.
Hope everyone has had a good day.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Hi All,
Sorry not been posting for the last couple of weeks as been trying to answer all the queries from the buyers solicitor in the house we are selling. Good news is I signed the contracts today and hopefully we should exchange this week with oossibke completion next week :j:j:j
Once sold and the funds are in my account I can clear ALL debts except for the mortgages on our home and another rental property. Really looking forward to this as then I can start to overpay our mortgage and decide once and for all where we want to live and what we want to do.
Plans keep being questioned as moving to our dream location would take us away from both of my parents, OH's have both passed away, and all 3 of our respective children. Decisions decisions.
Will update my totals tomorrow.

Thank you. I think it's 60 days they have to contest it. I keep thinking that if they were going to contest it, surely they would have done so as soon as the money was taken back from them??? But Sod's law would say as soon as I pay it off the credit card they will contest! I think I just have to leave it in the bank until we are 100% sure the money is ours.0 -
Many thanks to thriftylass for volunteering to take on March and Fmess I will take you up on your kind offer for April. I have just edited the list and added shyspender and Calling14 back in at the bottom of the list (it's at the bottom of post #2 on the first page if anyone wants to refer to it. Hope you don't mind being called substitutes (slightly regretting it myself as now have The Who playing in my head).
I was mid-post and something went wrong but catch upposts sorted the whole thing out so it was much simpler.
Bobarella you are the second person I know (on here) who has found a £5 this week (it happened to me once).
Welshkitty good luck for Friday's interview and congrats on savings, sales and progress with back.
shyspender hope things settle down for you soon.
Stewby well done on the new financial arrangements. I'm sure everything will be fine and if not the companies concerned will let you know soon enough. Wasn't going to comment on the OH and car expenses but I agree with the others (I held back from commenting as I failed to persuade DS3 to use the brush earlier - he was the one who complained about standing on a holly leaf last time).
Quiet SFD. Finished peeling the last of the carrot mountain (bought 9.5kg sack for £1) and have enough for a quadruple mix of carrot cake and two little bags of carrot sticks are in the fridge. A few spare ones so I can substitute if I am in danger of grating my fingertips. Have boiled a pan of eggs, made a load of cheese sandwich spread with the 31p piece of cheese I bought last week and cooked bacon to make another batch of individual quiches (without pastry). all meals using up bits and bobs from the fridge.
Put the bins out and have done at least three trips since with mini declutters. Two more embroidered pieces finished off (whilst watching an old film) which means another book can go in the cs pile. Planning a big tidy and de-clutter, just have to work out the best order as don't want to move things (especially furniture) more than once.
Today I am grateful for willing volunteers, for carrots (have had some every day) and for good deeds. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Hi guys
Sorry I missed all the palaver. I am still up for July challenge but lack the required skills to get one together at short notice, so very glad for thrifty & fmess - thank you!!!
Friends have gone home today after taking me out for lunch. I didn't pay and so kept a SFD meaning I now have 15 :j:j was lovely to have them here but they busted my grocery budget by the same amount as a takeaway... the only good thing being that I have leftoversI made a roast chicken dinner with yorkshires etc the first night, and the second I made a giant beef and lentil lasagne with the remaining yorkshire mix as some random side yorkies, peas and onion rings.
very nice!
Totals are in my sig. Have highlighted in green and redtoo much red!
mothernerd I ate another frog... threw out a rocking horse that had seen better days hen it was given to us by a neighbour and was in fact slightly dangerous. Haven't dared to throw it in case she saw and was upset but finally did it and she either hasn't seen it in the communal bin in 2 bits, or she doesn't mind as she has been lovely.
Should be back with some regularity for the rest of the month. My last 3 months have had 18 SFD's each so despite being 3 days shorter I am aiming for that again now.
Big hugs to allxx

Good evening all,
thrifty and fmess thank you for stepping up to the mark for the next couple of months! shyspender- hope you get through work/ home issues ok *hugs*
13sfd today! :T I have consumed a most delicious home made winter veg. soup I created this evening! It was most nom-worthy. Despite having a leaking blender, the smoothie maker took on the challenge and created my dinner for this evening and lunch for work tomorrow. Will need to go on a bigger veg shop to make up some more portions later in the week. Pay day tomorrow- :j
Calling- I feel very much like Eeyore at the moment! The search continues! Thank you to you and MagicCat for the good luck vibes!

Thanks for stepping into the breach everyone - would love to offer to help, but unfortunately between now and finishing my post-grad in early may, there's just too much going on as I work full time as well, so couldn't offer this time. Sign me up for the march challenge though, hopefully I'll even manage the time and internet access to post more regularly... I miss my turtlesProud to be debt free September 2014. :j
