Just bought the Daily Record for a work mate and me-no Aldi voucher ? But MSE says it should be there? Loads of people complaining on FB that the voucher was advertised for the Mirror and the Record but wasn't there. Just wasted a SFD and 55p, but got sth to read for coffee :).

OOps think it was only meant to be in the English Mirror, grrr, should have checked first.

Heyho, on a more postive note DD (11 mo) took her first three unaided steps last night. Now the trouble begins, lol.

Last night I got some stuff ready for the attic. The jumperoo will probably go to a work mate who is expecting twins for free rather than selling it on. Still not filed the paperwork and don't think I'll manage tonight as I offered to bake two cakes for a charity cake sale in work tomorrow.

Can't wait for payday tomorrow to move my monies and go to the butcher.

SFD for me today so target achieved but I did miss out on the ALDI vouchers.

  • Gosh, I haven't posted for aaaaages.

I'm on 11 NSD only (but was away for a week). Also 10 LTW. Done pretty poorly with most of my challenges this month, but at least I've come under budget for once.

Bring on March and maybe spring-time finally?!

Calling 14 so glad you are feeling better today.I will be joining you in decluttering.

thriftylass everyone is doing their budgets and reading upon your lovely March challenge.

Bobarella I sympathise with you over the weather.I had decided to change my routine and start with my walk, until I opened the curtains. Many moons ago I used to do five paper rounds with the free paper which took anything from just over a day to two full days depending on the number of leaflets. On days like today I would get soaked and have to change clothes about three times. When you think you can't get any wetter, a car drives through a puddle and you get wet from the toes up.

A bit of a snakes and ladders day for me. Another email from futility advising of a tariff change 'As your household consumes a low amount of energy you will experience an increase in your annual bill'.Grr standing charge for electric going up to 5p a day and gas to 27.5p.

Did a little declutter. Card shuffle was only partly successful - new higher limit from today is not available for balance transfers. Will save £400 on the balance I did manage but still paying high rate on the rest.Just keep plodding.

Weather improved this afternoon but far too wet to make a start on the garden but did go for a walk as far as the canal bank and along as far as the first bridge. Was very wet and slippy even in mountain boots so definitely counts as exercise. First bridge is most of the way to mum's (about 7 blocks on the street and perhaps 3 more to the bridge, maybe another 3 blocks to get all the way to mum's).

Lost my SFD as was tired aching and hungry on the way back. Chippy wasn't open or could have been worse. Won't make my target now. Little Arseda is just too convenient hence the need to find other walking routes, away from temptation.

Have just done an emergency shop (coming out of March budget) as wasn't feeling great earlier. Hope it is only a blip but if it is yet another bug I have supplies and food that will soothe and slip down easily. Broke the rules by buying ready made sandwiches (+ 3 x 4pack lemon muffins which willbe individually cling filmed and frozen). Justified because they cost 10p each and my hm sandwich is more than 10p. Have just had one (was so ill I forgot to have tea) and will take one to the hospital to eat after my appointment tomorrow. Should give me more time to walk and avoid spending on bus fare.

Today I am grateful for sunshine glinting off the canal, for walls and trees where I needed something to hold onto or pull myself up and 10p bargains (even if I lost my SFD).

Hi everyone, hope everyone is well :)

I did get a bike yesterday! :D T'was a comedy adventure where I tried a road bike but didn't know that the gears were on the frame, not the handlebars, and had to push it up a hill, then settled on an old skool mountain bike and the front wheel rolled off when we were putting it in the car! It was more expensive than I expected, but is fully serviced and the cost of the bike and all the bits I needed was similar to the cost of a new cheap Decathlon bike on its own. I realised the extra shifts I've done this week will cover the cost too. Popped in today and they fitted the mud guards for me as it doesn't have universal fittings.

I hit the road today in pouring rain and got soaked and mucky (pre-mudguards) but have survived the hilly terrain of our city, some gear changing issues, and the traffic despite being on the edge of terror most of the time, I'm sure that will get better :)

An SFD for me today, with lunch and tea taken to work and cycling exercise. Payday is tomorrow but I think I'll be stuck at my current SFD total of 13, maybe 14, 'til the month-end - I have a friend coming to stay on Saturday and might go out for after-work drinks tomorrow night (unless I decide to stay in and do my budget :o) so spends are on the horizon.

    Happy almost-Friday Turtles x

Edit: Today I am grateful for all the bike advice I've received (including from you guys!), for positive feedback from tutees, and for hearing us make lovely harmonies in choir.

14sfds, Can I bag the final one tomorrow?

What a wet and grim day today! Wellies were out in full force for my work shenanigans...Wish I did not feel so tired, my colleague rang in sick again today (this happens pretty much every week), and I have to do all of their jobs as well as my own- so.tired. Applied for another job today, will be interesting to see if I get an interview! My ear is firmly against the ground, although still trying to prioritise trying to find somewhere to live, although it looks like there are some delays on the sale of my friend's house that I am currently living in so I may have more breathing space than I anticipated. This would be great as it would mean I could save more for my deposit etc..

Hope you are all keeping dry, warm and well! One more day left- Thank you for running the thread this month mothernerd x
