Morning all
Just had a letter from my loan company (1st D1rect) to say they didn't clearly inform customers they could overpay their loans or pay them off earlier so they are giving us back all the interest for the period when we weren't clearly informed!!!!!!!! I'm so excited! It equates to a year of interest on a 5 year loan for mejust had a play with my spreadsheet and it helps move things on a little bit

Good morning!
I've been AWOL all weekend, I've tried to catch up where I can.
OH's debt is also down to gambling. I still get angry about it. The money he wasted could have been a deposit on a house, an incredible holiday, a new car, I could go on. It's hard to ignore the fact that we're stuck in a rented house with an idiot of a landlord is his fault. Dwelling on this is very unhelpful so I try to ignore it. He still occasionally attends GA but hasnt gambled since I found him out on DS1's second birthday. DS1 is now 5.
Thanks for all your comments regarding the rice krispies dinosaur! On the Sunday morning, OH called up, 'you do know the dinosaur's head has fallen off' :rotfl: off course I didn't know! Why do they make such as unhelpful comments? 45 mins before collection I was fixing a rice krispies dinosaur in my pyjamas. When the mum came to collect I was still in said pyjamas. I felt so unprofessional but it was a choice of getting dressed or clean kitchen. Today it's a patchwork owl. The things I get asked for.

I too didn't realise the significance of NSDs or SFDs. Why would anyone take that personally.
Traveller- I don't know how I missed you being a fellow Londoner. Apologies! I am a mere interloper who stayed from uni. Mind you how many of us are there I wonder?

Another SFD today. Got the estimate valuation of some of my attic finds and it's about €300, just have to find buyers now (thought the guy I contacted was interested but he just provided an evaluation). Maybe try ebay first as I know it and then more specialised site. We'll see.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250

Hello Turtles,
Hugs to those not feeling too good today - I'm not very well either, wish this cold would hurry up and go as I'm a bit fed up now. Spend day yesterday as had to get some paracetamol and washing powder, not exercise or meditation as I am lazy and ill and was in bed by about 7.30. Grump.
Apple - v exciting that your thread was in the email, I think I missed that, will have to have a look! I'm not sure about the icon but you definitely deserve one!
Welshkitty - I love Snowdonia, what a fab unexpected day out.
Bobarella - sorry to hear about bad experiences on another thread, glad you're back with us. Lilt - I had no idea that was why this thread says SFD - I get confused and use both. How funny people are! Having said that, I tend to lurk and chat her where it's friendly and safe.
Mothernerd - ginger cake with sweet potato sounds v interesting, can we have the recipe if it turns out well?
Fmess - hooray for interest refund!
CupcakeQueen - glad you managed to repair the rice crispie dinosaur, would have been v sad to hear he was a headless dinosaur. Love your OH not being quite sure if it was meant to have no head!:rotfl:

Hello everyone!!
Yes, it has been a long time since that awful kerfuffle. there were some very old time posters coming in and being rather obnoxious at the time. Akin to being a year 7, bullied by the year 11 cool kids at school. Still it all died down and we settled into our own SFD's instead. Good to give some of the newbies the reason behind the change of name for them
SFD #6 today. No need to buy anything, dinner is all sorted and am about to get in the kitchen and make a couple of different batches of soup up to tide me through the next few days at work.
Have just had a phonecall from mum as she has had an amazing offer to go on holiday anytime between now and May for a week, free of charge, in the 3 bed villa of the chap who lives over the road from her. His villa is in Tenerife and he said to her that she could take me and Jellytot too if she wanted! Logistically she has to work it out. I haven't got a passport, and neither has Jellytot. Dad has offered to help pay for them. It would mean booking cheap flights over there and everything else being covered apart from spending money and food which we could keep cheap.
Haven't been abroad since 2008... what do you guys think?!

Just popping on quickly in between doing 5km at the gym (would feel virtuous if I hadn't ate mini eggs and a Creme egg yoghurt!) and doing a spot of tutoring.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Done some more catching up!
I think it's a little silly that people through strops over minor details NSD/SPD oh dear. I have found this group very helpful, non judgemental and nothing but encouraging. I've used forums in the past but only just picked up this one so thank you for the very warm fuzzy welcome!
Just noticed this weeks challenge - perfect as this was a mission of mine anyway. I plan a day out in our local city with my boys. We have 2 big shopping centres both of which are holding free craft activities so we'll be going along plus a visit to our fantastic children's library. I will be treating them to lunch. If there are no decent offers emailed to me I have my staff discount card at the ready which gets me about 20% off loads of high Street restaurants. I may also plan a Geocaching adventure. Apart from that DS2 will just be happy to have his big brother home so there's bound to be many a Lego explosion!Overdraft: [STRIKE]£529[/STRIKE] £199 BC: [STRIKE]£697.82[/STRIKE] £1974.02 MBNA: [STRIKE]£1874[/STRIKE] £517.00
