Abundant well done you, I got ready to go out to local hardware shop but had a change of mind and cleaned my kitchen instead. Another Sfd in the bag. Love Somerset got relatives down there.
Still struggling with flu, been for a couple of dog walks as my back cannot cope with lazing around.
Off a hot steamy bath to clear my head and then need to eat something healthy. Exhausted now and really don't feel up to cooking.
If anyone else asks me what I am doing for valentines day I may scream. Singleton planning onesie, film, wine and popcorn.LBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/220 -
Evening all
Its been a lovely day here in Derbyshire tooso I also went walking in the sunshine and took all the dogs (although not all at once). So that is an exercise session done. Unfortunately, I've had a headache since waking up, not sure if its a migraine as I've felt ill from it all day but didn't want to lose a day by staying in.
Also went back to my sister's house and did some more jobs for her to help her get ready to move in next week. This helped keep me busy so a SFD too (number 4)Its making me very appreciative of my house but also I so wish I wasn't in debt as I'd love to help her out more and she is shopping for all the household items I would love to replace in my house. Oh well, one more year, fingers crossed.
Hope you've all had a good a day, hugs to those who need itLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Not going to rant or moan or anything but remain calm... boiler is now leaking.
Actually started last night, right before I was meant to leave for work. Dad is going to try and fix it as the leak is not directly related to what the boilerman did.
However, a work colleague has told me the name of a plumber where we live so will try them if Dad can't fix it.
:undecided
Now... when people say "things come in threes". Does this mean that my boiler breaking twice counts as one thing or two?? Cause if it's two then I have had my three!! (car, boiler, boiler). If not, then I am crawling back into bed (until the bed breaks which would just be ironically cruel).
Hope everyone is doing okay. I am glad that someone else is impatient too. I seem to still be living for paydays but now for a completely different reason (to pay off debts rather than get more money).
Hugs to everyone.Mortgage: £0/£80,329.91

Stewby, I would say you've more than had your three! I really hope it's good news and no more money regarding your boiler
Calling, I hope you feel better soon and am with you on the Valentines thing.
Abundant, well done to you for walking out :T
Fmess I too wish I was debt free to enable me to do more for people but we all will be soon:A Your Always in my heart, you never ever will be forgotten-9/9/14:heart2:0 -
stewby so sorry to hear about the boiler again. I agree that you have definitely had your fair share of bad luck and it has to be onwards and upwards from here. Hope you get it sorted.
I also agree with everybody who has mentioned being impatient to pay off debts. I should be able to pay a lump sum to get rid of my credit card in March, which will leave me with just my mortgage and car finance (which I am not too concerned about). I sometimes get annoyed with myself for wishing time away but I cannot wait for the day I am debt free.
Work for me today and it was a SFD. Had porridge and hm jam for breakfast. Took last nights left overs for lunch and also used some to make a stew for this evening. Have consumed loads of fruit and veg and not much junk today. Also managed 2 glasses of water.
I have had my m&s credit card through the post for the vouchers so will start using that for shopping. I am also planning to switch bank accounts for the incentives. Have been reading about Yorkshire building society and it appears you can switch more than 1 account to them and get the incentive paid on all of them. I have 3 accounts but 1 of them I will not move. If I can switch the other 2 than that's £300 into my savings for very little work. Am thinking I can then switch again to somebody else for a different incentive. Anyone else done this?
Still coughing and sneezing today, but feeling much more positive.
Today I am thankful for:
Late starts on a Sunday.
My parents teaching me to say nothing at all when I have nothing nice to say (I work with a 'testing' character).

Well today was a bit of a disaster really. Went to A1di and spent more than planned (£70)stuck to the list, just came to more than my estimate. Got to the till, used my new debit card and forgot my PIN. Tried it twice, then got a warning that if I got it wrong again it would be locked, so asked the girl at the till if she could suspend the transaction whilst I rang my husband and asked him to dig it out of the pile of paper I was planning on shredding when I got home. She didn't know how to do it so rang for the supervisor. By now everyone looking and not knowing that I had money but no PIN, were probably thinking my card was declined. Then I realise.... No phone - left on charge at home:mad:... Had to do the walk of shame to the pay phone up the road whilst they put my trolley to one side. Husband couldn't find the PIN so ended up driving to the store with his card, and our two children in tow and paying for me. Got to the carpark and he had parked badly in his rush to get to me, blocking someone in the next car from getting back in theirs.
ive just used another £25 for petrol.
Have absolutely no desire at all to shop now so to look on the bright side, at least I should clock up a few SFDs :j
Fruit and veg at least 7 today and have done 10k + steps according to my Jawbone Up tracker thingy. Have got a few bits together to pop in the food bank collection next time I go to T3sco.
Today I'm grateful that it was my PIN and not a lack of funds that was the problem. Sending happy thoughts to my follow NST's....

Oh poor Stewby. Yes you have had all your bad luck.
Not sure what I have done to the weather, fog came down last night and was still hanging around for most of the day, so no walk. I have tackled the washing up which was threatening to take over the kitchen and DS3 was sleeping downstairs so I went in the pit of doom, picked up all the rubbish +plastic and paper recycling. Was exhausted but went back with the grabber stick and retrieved 10 more cans (and more rubbish) from behind the bedside cabinet.
Found more washing up - DS3 had run out of plates and bowls, so brought some back the other day. 'Dinners' and apple crumble and custard I fed him and his friend last weekend so it's been soak, leave for a while, scrub, change water, clear previous lot, start again. Definitely deserve a gold star for housework today.
Made a batch of cheese sandwich mix (grated chilli cheese, chopped onion, lots of yoghurt and a little mayo), think that is going to be one of my culinary highlights for the week. made DS3 a vat of chicken curry (with loads of lentils, frozen broccoli, peppers and sweetcorn) and a small pan of rice salad for me.
Have taken mince and a small beef joint out of the freezer but put them in the fridge so if I don't do anything with them tomorrow, they will be fine.
Vague 'not feeling 100%' has turned into severe sore throat so no SFD as just had to go round the corner to only shop still open for cold drink and sucky sweets. Bought a cheap yoghurt 4 pack - they taste really synthetic but the first one went down. Was tempted by ice-cream but will wait until tomorrow, see if I feel up to going out.
I have noticed that some people have launched their own 100 days challenge in the run up to the election. One diarist I follow has set herself a fairly ambitious agenda whilst another is trying to come up with 100 little money saving tips including getting things out of the freezer the night before you need them and defrosting in the fridge (the items will lower the fridge temperature and the motor have to work less to keep it cool, therefore saving energy).
I think we are down to day 90 or 91 now so what changes do we expect or want to implement in the next 90 days (end of first week in May). Sunshine, flowers, imagine being warm without being buried under layers of clothing turtles.
As we have been reminded that it is half-term, I have decided that
Mini Challenge Week Two will beFUN FOR FREE
I want to hear about all the fun things you have been doing for half -term with children or grand-children. If you don't have children, what things do you like to do, plan something for this week (even if it's only getting enough sleep).
Whilst I am not going to suggest a mass boycott of what must be one of the tackiest commercial festivals of the year (happy to hear quiet romantic non-commercial plans) which must be overwhelmingly disappointing for the majority of the population, can I suggest those of us not in a relationship think of something nice to do for ourselves (maybe I can work out how to get in the bath:rotfl:).
Today I am grateful for wonderful cheese sandwiches, nearly being finished with the washing up and warmer weather (cold wet and rather sad, but warmer). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Currently sat in A&E with Oh waiting for him to have an xray. Have been here over 2 hours now. Oh told me last night that he had been experiencing severe chest pain earlier in the week. There is a history of heart attack in his family so have made sure he gets checked today for peace of mind.
Thank you for your words of support and encouragement synonymous, crazylady, MagicCat andstewby regarding uni and work. It genuinely means a lot!
stewby Hope your luck improves. It always seems to happen at the same time!

abundant Well done on your sharp turn around! :T
Goodness me Pippy, what a palarver! You poor thing! Very awkward turtle for you!
Despite being at A&E right now, I have had a lovely weekend with friends and work colleagues. Emotional in places as today was officially when I said goodbye to my lovely ex manager. Even helped her clean her flat before she set off. Trips to visit her in Dorset are certainly afoot. So no SFDs acquired this weekend but still low spends in charity shops and reduced items purchased.
OH out from xray- all clear!! :j Time to go home with good news!!:coffee:

Loveadove glad your OH has the all clear - have they been stressed? When I was a teenager I used to get bad chest pains at times of stress but they monitored my heart and found nothing wrong.
Pippy hope you have recovered from the stressful shoppinh experience
Stewby I'm sure you will be on the up again this week. Why don't you read back through some of your posts as a reminder of how far you have come on your journey?
Mothernerd does free and fun count if someone bought you something fun to do, so it's free to you? If so I'm off to Harry Potter World (OH's Christmas present to me)
