Good morning turtles - happy monday! Sorry I've been AWOL for a few days, been insanely busy and trying to catch up on jobs, although that's no excuse. Aim of this week is to make it to payday without spending anything other than car parking - am pretty low this month as whacked a load of money into savings when I got back pay after christmas and don't want to have to take any out, so hopefully as low spend a week as possible. Have food, fuel etc so shouldn't need to spend a thing.
Pre payday balance £0/ £13.22
Groceries 13th Feb - 15th March £0/£100
Fuel 13th feb - 15th March £0/£60
Lunch to work 5/20
Lunchtime exercise 6/20
SFDs 2/15
Busy week ahead, hoping it'll be better than last week and looking forward to next weekend alreadyProud to be debt free September 2014. :j

Hello Turtles,
Hope you are all OK and having a good Monday.
Loveadove - so glad to hear all is OK with your OH, must have been really worrying being stuck in A&E all that time.
Pippy - so annoying about the debit card, remembering new pins for things is a nightmare! I spent about 10 minutes the other day trying to get past a security door in work, then realised I was putting in my pin number not my security code!
Stewby - so sorry to hear about the new boiler leak, really hope it is sorted quickly and things start looking up soon.
I am full of cold today, and feeling a bit sorry for myself - spent most of yesterday being lazy and sleeping on the sofa hoping I would get through it, but still feeling rubbish today, hoping I can make it through work as can't really afford the time off. Lost a SFD yesterday, as ordered something for a birthday which I should have done on Saturday, and didn't get my meditation or any exercise done - I'm blaming the cold, but really need to get back on track.
Mothernerd - re: this week's minichallenge - it's not exactly free, but all OH's family clubbed together to get us membership for the national trust for Christmas (we did the same for SIL's family for a local zoo they like to go to) - so far we have done 3 or 4 visits, resisting the coffee shop, and it has been some lovely 'free' days out for the price of the petrol. I also like the museum near us which is free, the one thing I miss from living in London is the art galleries which you could go to for free.
I totally agree about Valentines by the way, OH and I tend to avoid and celebrate out own anniversary later in the year instead. This year we are having my inlaws round for dinner, can't think of anything less romantic than that!:rotfl:

Hello, will need to catch up properly later.
Full of the lurgy again, this time with achy body. Anyway. Contacted my collector and will see what he says.
Was busy this weekend taking detailed pictures, seeing FIL and babysitting friend's daughter again. Also went shopping, and that my grocery budget up to £117. So far this month is going well. I also decided not to have a birthday party till my friend is feeling better. Can't be bothered anyway as it's on the 14th. She's out of ICU and even the neurosurgeon is surprised by her recovery. so we'll see. Till later
Just saw the bit about voting. I'm German (here for over a decade and now married) but allowed to vote in certain elections and I always do. In Germany I always voted and even if it was for the beer drinker party (yes, they do exist) just to cast a vote especially if I didn't agree with any other parties because that's one less vote for them. The extreme left or right will always vote so to make it more democratic I rather vote random than not at all. Sorry for the long spiel, just passionate about it.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Good Morning
Had a bit of a rubbish experience using another thread on the forums to ask a reasonable question, just made me feel so picked upon I had to take time out. But I realised I would miss coming on and chatting to all the perfectly nice people, so am back again.
Month is going fairly well. Am pleased with food budget at £100 of £180 target.
Havent spent anything on travel over the weekend.
OH and son did spend £5 of our £20 fun budget whilst I was at work but I cant begrudge them that.
I was pleased to notice that the freezing temps appear to have moved on, at least this morning they have. Nice to be able to go out in just a coat rather than a coat and enormous cardie underneath.
Have a good week all.

Hi everyone. Loveadove, I'm really glad your OH is ok
Bob, sorry you had that, we've all been there, just forget about them
Well I ended up buying the recommended cat food by the pet shop for our kitten. Only because he's so young. What does anyone else feed theirs? I also bought some fruit loaf, so spent just over 30.00  Don't intend to spend anymore
I have our half term next week. I intend to be a tourist in London. Does anyone else in London NOT visit the tourist sights
I don't even know where half of them are! So it will be that and bike riding to keep the little fella entertained
I also must tried to read my James patterson Alex cross books too. Had them since christmas. Well I'm working from home today and also trying to de-clutter. The place is in need of TLC. The halway is first on the list, but I know flooring will be expensive, even though just for the stairs and landings. I think that part will need to wait until I'm debt free
Take care everyone

Hello everyone!
Glad you OH is ok loveadove. Bobarella I've found there can be a real mix of personalities on these forums. I tend to stick to this thread now as everyone here is so lovely. I'm scared to post on some others in fear of the replies I may get.
Well I should have been in uni today but, after driving there, found out lecturer is off sick so I am back home. Have activated my m&s card and have started to transfer 2 of my bank accounts to Yorkshire bs to get the incentives. They confirmed on the phone they I will get a payment for each of the accounts I transfer (wish I had more!). Can't believe how easy that was to make £300!!
I had packed a nice salad for lunch at uni, so have just had that at home, full of peppers, carrots etc, followed by some fruit. Need to drink some water but it's just too cold! Tonight will be bubble and squeak with chicken left over from Saturday's roast.
It's not half term here til next week, but I am trying to think of activities that are free or cheap. May do a cheap cinema morning. Not sure what else yet but will be nice to spend some quality time with the children.
Off out for a drive now in DHs new car so will catch up with you all later.0 -
Loveadove glad you have had good news.
Up to my 6 sfd today. Was going to get some hair dye but still got the flu lurgy, made it into work but not up to playing dying hair tonight. Hair tied up next few days to hide roots.
Welsh kitty Yorkshire bank sounds good. I did M & S one before xmas which was bit hassle compared to Halifax so easy. Gained 120 pounds in vouchers for it. Nice to have food treats now and again.
Was going to post a pic here but it failed. I am useless, anyway was of den making under a table for Mothernerd. Kept lots of boxes from work so will be something for grandson probably.
Mothernerd hope you make the bath.

A question for the turtles:
A thread I set up got mentioned in the tips section of the email the other week. But I've not got one of those little icons under my name. How long should I wait to get it? Is there someone I can email about it?
And bob, can we help you with your question where pesky people were not nice to you? I got told on one thread that what I ate was gross - soup and coleslaw!!!!!!! - and I post minimally there now.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Guys thank you, I was being silly feeling like not coming on the whole forum just for some idiots. There are a few with very odd better than thou attitudes. I dont know what attracts them, other than its a good opportunity to belittle others that they probably dont get in real life. Anyway. Lets move on
Apple - How rude to tell someone what they eat is weird. Espeically on this board where we all celebrate using up and wearing out surely?
WelshKitty - free half term ideas may be easier if this nice spring like weather keeps up.
Traveller - There are so many free things to do in London, if you'd like any tips please shout, have lived here for 17 years now" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D
