You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time
  • Nothing on website iv just checked again. It didnt take them long to post an announcement on there concerning the bank charges court case though.I think we should all put a collective greivance in writing to them. When I finally get through to the cs they dont even acknowledge me as an individual they spout off , dont give me a chance to speak then end the call abruptly, so its probably not even being logged as a call from me just a general enquiry if you know what i mean.Oh id better go im getting all airiated again.

I guess that CS are getting fed up with everybody phoning them and moaning... What are you all going to do when the cards eventually arrive? Thought I might write, so that Abbey has some feedback about this.

I spoke to James in complaints who said the cards will be with us tomorrow.
I said I'd heard several stories now and been given various dates for arrival - apparently so have they! I wonder why this story hasn't hit the media?
    I have plenty of willpower - it's won't power I need.
  • Still no card for me either! Well at least I can't spend it!! Is this some form of Moneysaving?!!!

there is another thread for this on the consumer vent board

I was told that the cards were now generated only a week before expiry because there had been problems with customers getting the cards and using them before the old ones run out!! Because they then had problems at the place that makes them it has caused us all to be left without cards.

If this is true this situation is not justy due to bad luck (floods and postal strikes) but to Abbey's ridiculous decision to send them out so late because of a few customers making mistakes. I was told this, by the way on two seperate occasions - the first time about 12 days before the end of the month when I was beginning to think that the cards were later than usual.

This situation has obviously been hapenning for some time (over a month) if you look at what hapenned to this person at the end of June.

I think this shows that there must be more to it than postal strikes and floods!

  • Hi I am very angry with Abbey. I am away from home on holiday. Only realised my debit card had expired when used it on 1st August.
Abbey initially lied and said card had been sent out late plus flood excuse. But today was told by Abbey that the card had never, and was not going to be sent out. Because of database problem addresses have been lost of thousands of customers. SO ADVICE CHECK WITH ABBEY AGAIN HAS YOUR CARD BEEN SENT OUT AT ALL. I was only told this because due to this problem my teenage daughter took my electron and business cards out of house, to phone info to me, so I could use internet away from home. But unfortunately these cards were then stolen. It was whille putting a stop on these Abbey cards that Abbey admited my debit card would never have arrived anyway!!!!
I am going to change my bank and saving accounts now as fed up plus indian call centre very very unhelpful.
I think we should all take out a collective complaint against Abbey.
