the IMEI is the same on the box, on the battery and using *#06#, but externally the IMEI number gives a different phone, which was confirmed by tesco live chat, thats why they told me to contact their handset support, so they could look into this.
my bank who hold my home insurance wont allow me to add this as to them it is fake as the IMEI does not show the same phone as i have and i dare say insurance companies would use the official GSMA database0 -
Just had a call from my bank, because their insurance dept have logged that my phones IMEI number does not match the phone i have been given by Tesco Mobile they have cancelled the DD with tesco mobile before any money is actually taken from my account0

Either way having just run your IMEI number through it shows as a Moto E which is what it's supposed to be isn't it ?

What was the outcome of your thread about showing usage on your account before you had the phone ?It's not just about the money0 -
I wouldn't have thought it was their decision to make to be honest.

now thats the only ones show its a motorola, yes the bank can do that if they think fraud is taking place as as they cant match the IMEI with the phone thats what they suspect.
the other thread , tesco still looking into this, but they also apart from 2 months credit , then credited me as their system has charged me the full amount for a 1 week.
I did notice when the phone arrived the sim was already inserted in the phone0 -

My thought would be as a valid IMEI check shows the correct registration the ones you have been using are incorrect and which may put you in deep water if stopped the DD for an incorrect reasonIt's not just about the money0 -
That's quite normal when buying through Tesco

I would assume my bank would use the official GSMA database and if that is giving the wrong details, maybe as Tesco have not replied to my emails they are trying to correct this behind the scenes0 -

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
They can't change anything behind the scenes !
A check on a respected IMEI checking site shows the correct information ie a Moto E which is what you bought.
Clearly that would not be able to happen unless the other site has made an error, the chances of imeidata being able to come up with the correct phone data must be millions to one if there was anything dodgy going onIt's not just about the money0 -

so whys the bank insurance coming up with a Samsung, this would imply the official GSMA database was showing the wring details, and yes all these you could file a correction notice if they have the details wrong.
Seems strange tesco mobile have not replied0
