I.understand about emotional and binge eating, I do both. I am hoping to improve how.I manage these. I am thinking I may need to seek some therapy of some sort to long term understand what my triggers are and other ways of dealing with the stress etc.
Do you have proper porridge or instant porridge as they differ enormously0 -
Calories 1765, steps7658.
Hi OG I make the real stuff with porridge and I like it but it doesn't fill me up. I have been trying bircher muesli and that is good and keeps the hunger pangs at bay.
I have eight people coming for supper tomorrow and I have to be in work unexpectedly so I have been cooking and cleaning all day. The cleaning is good as my house really needed it. I have hopelessly over catered and both freezers are full. Still it will be worth it.............I hope.
Luckily it is the neighbours and they are pretty tolerant of my rather hit and miss cooking, let's hope the Prosecco covers all of the not quite right stuff. Next week-end I am going to have a lovely quiet one whist I get sorted out to go to Borneo.0 -
Bad week, bit of a relapse with the mental health, lots of junk hoovered up! Back on it now but the first gain of 2015 sadly, 2Ibs on0

Take a deep breath UKTigerLily, chalk it up and move on you, are doing ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANTLY and a blip is just that. I hope that you have a better week personally and weight wise.
Are you still working with a personal trainer? I am starting to exercise more when I am back from my holiday I will definitely swim at least twice a week but I am thinking that now I should be doing something else too. I am frightened of gyms.....0 -
Morning lovely ladies!!
Progress seems a little slow at the moment for me, stayed the same last week and this week lost 2lbs. I'm 4lbs away from my 50lb loss but feels like I'm crawling there! Next target after that is my 20%. It is helpful not to think about the ultimate goal. On the plus side I've been trying some new recipes and posting my results on our group page on FB, which helps keep me motivated, as my biggest competition is myself!Over futile odds
And laughed at by the gods
And now the final frame

CWR you are amazing, 50lbs is such an achievement! Well done you. Crawling or not, you are getting there!
UKtigerlily, I do think the odd small gain is nothing to worry about, it's when we consistently gain and feel out of control that things need rebalancing. You've done brilliantly xx
I'm now back to fully functioning and firing on all cylinders Oldestgnome - I am back to craving things again though which is the downside of being better I suppose.
Izadora, how's the spiralizer going? I have been thinking of getting one.
I'm trying to walk every day in the hols - I discovered a great circular walk from my house, down the canal path and back which is just over a mile. I did it twice the other day! I'm also going to get some days out planned with walking as their main activity.
I've just had lean beef mince with onions and heaps of vegetables for tea, taking me to around 1700 calories for the day.I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.
Weight loss journey started January 2015-32lbs0 -
Waving at CWR, brilliant progress you are nearly at - 50? Hurrah! I had people here for dinner and was out with friends last night, quiet day required today. I have to make a doll for a friend's son, I am hoping that I get my sewing mojo back soon I don't feel at all like doing any sewing at all. raining again..........0

Izadora, how's the spiralizer going?
I've only used it once so far, to make courgette spaghetti, and it was great. Really, really easy to use and the texture of the courgette, while it clearly wasn't real pasta, was nice with a quorn bolognese sort of sauce. I got this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00PR54V30?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00 because I like the fact that it's got a bit to catch the veg spirals.
I haven't really had a chance to use it for other things yet as I've been out and about a lot, which also means I've been grabbing food on the go so hate to think what I may have put on. I wasn't at home last night so couldn't weigh myself this morning, I have that joy to look forward to tomorrow!!0 -
I am in a great big fat grump as I have stayed the same, not that I deserved to lose anything as I have been out three times for dinner this week. I am just hoping to stay the same over the holiday and start back in eaernest at the end of August.
However, big news, I have joined the local health club to use the pool. It is by the station so I can go before or after work and I have signed up for six months starting on 1 September - honestly this is one of the bravest things I have ever done!
I need to exercise more and eat less, sounds so simple doesn't it?0 -
Good for you tootallulah! Can you do lots of lengths? A woman at work goes and does about 100 lengths in a session - that'd take me about a week! :rotfl:
I'm still dithering over joining the gym 5 min walk from the house, there is also a lunchtime walking club starting at work I'm considering joining - need to do less thinking and more doing! I've been watching 'Obese, a year to save my life' and the workouts those brave souls do is awe inspiring - one woman who started out at nearly 30st was doing a triathlon!
Not expecting any weightloss this week as lots of extras I didn't need have crept in, starting Friday with a peanut butter KitKat - because it had been a 'hell of a week'. I must not buy any more Warburtons Bagel Thins either as I can easily eat my way through them in a couple of days!
My WW group has set a challenge to lose 7lbs by Sept so I need to get a grip, sharpish!!Over futile odds
And laughed at by the gods
And now the final frame
