Morning All, back with today's weigh in just 1 lb over my previous best and a tantalising 3 lbs away from 3 stones. I am back counting calories and eating low carb so my aim for the next two weeks is 5 lbs. How is everyone else doing? I hope the school holidays aren't too difficult jps.
In two weeks time I am off to Borneo, it will be easy to be carb free there so hopefully it won't be as disastrous as France.0 -
Great news about your Mom tootallulah. You've also done some good recovery from your time away, here's to the next few pounds off!
How are theholidays going jps?0 -
Thanks OG. Back on it properly today, 1659 calories. I feel so sorry for all the people on holiday in the UK, how bad is this weather? I need some summer shoes to deal with th rain.0

So happy for you and your mum tootallulah! That's really lovely news. The weather is truly awful, you can tell I've broken up from school can't you?
I've maintained again this week, which is a bit frustrating but shows me that I have to really put the effort in to get a loss now.
I need a good week this week, so that I don't fall into my usual "school holiday" trap of gaining.
I'm still doing calorie counting tootallulah, it seems to work best for me as well. I'm going to do a lot of walking trips out to try and keep things in check - it would be nice to have good weather but never mind, I'll take whatever comes. Which will probably be rain and wind, given that it seems to be a proper El Nino year now!
Good luck everyone xxI believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

Well done for getting back to it so quickly tootallulah and well done for staying the same jpscloud - I hate to think how much I'd put on if I was at home during the day!!
I think that last Monday I must've been weighing unnaturally heavy (quite likely, due to alcohol-induced water retention and a VERY big Sunday dinner) because I've apparently lost half a stone this week. Although I was very good Monday to Saturday, well until about 9.30pm Saturday that is, after that I got stuck into the wine and it all went a bit downhill, there's no way that's a genuine loss.
I'm happy that I've only got about half a stone to get back to where I was before holiday though and have just bought a spiralizer, which I used for the first time last night and loved, so hope that it will inspire me to eat a bit more healthily.0 -

Hi Oldestgnome, going fairly well, but I had a vomiting bug just as we broke up last week! You'd think that would mean a weight loss, but I'm an odd one, and even though my appetite has been a bit off, I still managed to maintain my weight.
It's also set me back a bit in terms of the activity levels I wanted to achieve, but hopefully over the next few days I'll feel more like doing things.
Being at home all day, even with a slightly off appetite, is such a difficult time for me with my compulsive eating habits. The weather isn't helping as I can't really do much in the garden either!
Not to worry, it's good to have a break even if the sun doesn't shine :jI believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

Hiya jps sorry to hear of the womiting - nasty.
Today for the first time in seven months I have eaten pasta, v v big mistake I feel bloated, sick and heavy. OMG this means I may have successfully changed my eating habits as pasta is no longer on my crave list but is rather on the never again pile.

And I have really worked out that lower carb is better for me so that is the way forward. It isn't raining this morning, for which much thanks.0

Hope you are now restored to gully working order jps!
Tootallulah, its really interesting to figure out things that do and dont work for your changing eating habits wise. Have you had any other discoveries?0 -
Calories 1632, steps 1487.
Morning OG well the carbs thing is something I think I have always known. I get a lot of my carbs from fruit but as soon as I add in my beloved wheat based carbs I lose v little weight (or none) despite staying on calorie count. However having completely avoided pasta and bread since January going back to them in France and at home
has shown me that they make me feel "heavy".
My only other thing is that I love sweets and chocolates and I need to have none of either in the house because I am an emotional eater and a low moment is much improved by scoffing all available sweets and chocolate in one big binge.
And finally porridge makes me hungry.......if I have porridge for breakfast I am starving hungry by 11.00 how does that work?0
