Day 118, 71 points, Nemisis and Hubris. Lovely afternoon at the neighbours barbecue: beer, ice cream, brandy snaps, bread, cheese, sausage, coleslaw - sigh.

Oh well back on it tomorrow weigh in as well.

Lost 1lb, so back to pre Majorca weight. I stood for a long time yesterday and today my knee is seized, debating a gentle walk versus ice pack. Off to google.

Ok so it is one third of the way through the challenge and I am 5lbs behind target, I should be 33lbs down on my 100lbs challenge. So whilst the 2 stones gone is good and I am pleased with that it isn't good enough.

Looking at my eating I think that I am taking in too many calories under the points system because I do eat quite a lot of yogurt and skimmed milk. In the last two months I have only lost 8 lbs and I am scrupulous about recording, weighing etc but I don't think that I am ruthless enough about where those points come from. If I eat my full amount of points (including the 49 "extras") I only lose 1lb a week. That isn't enough for my liking especially as I religiously walk my 10,000 steps a day and I am very overweight so it should come off a bit more quickly, shouldn't it?.

I am going to cut out yogurt and up the vegetables and salad count. I'll stick with the skimmed milk as I need the calcium. Dear Diary I want, and need, to lose 2 lbs this week!

Don't be so hard on yourself, you've achieved an incredible weight loss so far!

As you lose weight you need less calories to survive as you weigh less. Are there any 'naughty' foods you can cut instead of the yoghurts? Yoghurts I find have a lot of good nutrients in.

What exercise are you doing except for your 10,000 steps? Even a short burst of high intensity exercise has great fat burning. Even say if you go out for a walk, do a 10 second run, 30 second rest and repeat it 3 times. Then as you get fitter/lighter up the 10 seconds to longer. Obviously if you have dodgy knees like me running isn't best, so I do this at the gym on the cross trainer (1 minute fast, 1 minute slow)

    Day 119, 40 points.

Thanks Sharon, sadly I have a badly injured knee and walking on the flat is about all it can cope with. I have kept up with the yogurt for the good stuff, and it isn't full of sugar yogurt either.

I am just wondering if I was doing things very differently at first, one thing I have slightly lost track of is not eating after 6 in the evening so I will get back on that. Also I was using my extra points fairly evenly but lately they have been falling at the week-ends and I weigh in on Mondays. In the end it is calories over time and I need to up the amount of walking and cut the calories.

Tootalullah, I know what you mean about wanting quicker results. I've lost 2st as well (bar half a pound!) so far and I really would like it to have been more.

I was thinking though, this time last year if you asked me if I'd like to lose a pound a week, I'd have snapped your hand off. I think I get impatient because I need to keep myself really motivated in order to stick with it.

I've lost 3lb this week, bringing my total to 27 and a half pounds for the year so far.

Hiya JPS -3 lbs is brilliant and good that you are in the 2 stones gone club too.

I am wobbling a bit and I don't know why, not enough to eat a big bar of fruit and nut but if it was in the house I would. I hope that I get my mojo back quickly.

Had the worst weekend ever, mcd's, pizza hut, loads of snacking. I feel bleugh & a blob. I am on it like a mission today & will not be distracted.

I have to lose at least a lb this week to make up for the last few weeks (albeit funeral/birthday chaos weeks) stagnation.

You are all doing so great, I need to follow your example & not let my lazy ways return
I don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.

Well done on the losses jpscloud and tootallulah and don't worry about the weekend quidsy, at least you've got back to it quickly.

I was very grumpy yesterday because I'd put on 1.6lb and really don't see how/why. I did go about half a bottle of wine (so about 9 points) over my weekly total so would have happily (well, slightly grudgingly...) accepted staying the same but I think having put on was a bit harsh.

I somehow managed not to give in to the feeling of "Well, if I'm being that careful and still managing to put on weight then what's the point", tried to convince myself that it may well just be normal/hormonal fluctuations and stuck to my points and went for a nice walk to Severndroog Castle.

Seeing as I'm going to Cornwall tomorrow for a few days, and generally spend rather a lot of time in the pub there, I can't see this week being brilliant points wise. I must keep reminding myself that I'm still a stone lighter than I was a couple of months ago and a couple of bad weeks is not a problem!!!
