Hello all, sorry to just be a lurker at the moment - I'll have a bit more time over Easter hols.

I lost 4.5lbs this week! I think it was the exercise that helped, I walked a charity mile and did some treadmill at home, plus extra stair climbing at work.

  • Maybe we should add all our weekly weight losses together like they do at my WW class, so, collectively, we have a good week!! :rotfl:

However, must keep repeating that any weight loss is a step further in the right direction - even a pound a week = 3st 10lb in a year and that would make a huge difference to most people. I also must keep reminding myself that it has taken 30 years, 3 kids and a sedentary office job to get to the size/shape I started the year at, so I can't realistically expect to lose it all in a matter of months and still have a 'life'.

Good day today, only 30 points used so far and had a gurt lush dinner of egg fried (cauli) rice and oven baked spring rolls.

  • I thought loosing a pound a week was good in the hope you'll keep it off? I've managed to loose 3 1/2 stone in 12 weeks through eating more sensibly. Hope to loose more when I'm able to exercise.

Day 77 - 74 points - scuppered by a trip to Edinburgh cocktails, lunch dinner etc. All of my weekly points gone on the first day of the week............and now I need to dig in and get going as it is the second quarter of the challenge.

    Hiya CWR, well done Westy.

Thank you, I'd never worked out what difference it would make over a year. While I'd much rather get to where I want to be faster than that it is heartwarming to remember that, even if it takes a while, I will still get there.

    Mmmmm, cocktails :D

Don't worry too much tootallulah, if you're going to blow your weekly points in one go at least you chose something good to spend them on and you've got the rest of the week to recover.

Day 78, 41 points - another night out but much more controlled this time and absolutely off the booze. I am at last starting to feel better, still coughing but no face ache or sore throat - hurrah. Just half a day at work today, a day in London tomorrow (taking my own food). And then it is four days off - life is good.

Brilliant weight loss JPS the exercise clearly does work. I just do walking as I am so overweight I don't know what else would be good except swimming, I love swimming I should find out about the local pool, I am a bit frightened of meeting a neighbour there.

If we lose 1lb a week for the rest of the year it is 2 stones 11 lbs not so dusty all those little weight losses add up.

I am, of course still aiming for the 100lb shot as my need is great. Tried on a series of summer clothes one size down, tight but not impossible they will be good to go by the summer if I can keep up at the current rate. And as you have probably realised clothes are my drug of choice.

CWR, how do you do the egg fried rice (cauli) rice thing? I need some new food in rotation as I am a bit bored with my current efforts.

I grate half a small to medium cauli, you can put it in the processor but makes more washing up! Melt a tsp butter in a non stick frying pan and scramble 1 egg with salt and pepper, then chuck in the cauli and some peas and stir it about a bit to break up the egg, I added some onion granules, more salt and pepper and a little chinese five spice. Splash some boiling water in there to make some steam, stirring it around until it's had evaporated and the peas are cooked. The cauli doesn't take long as it's tiny 'grains'. Will add some spring onions next time I make it, I forgot last time.

  • Although I've had a fairly good week apart from Friday, the week before seems to have caught up with me and I've put on a pound:( I know it's only a pound but it's my first gain and I'm cross with myself!!
