RTC whilst on driving lesson

Firstly, you are assuming that i suggested this to him ?!
Secondly, you are assuming he had a stiff neck for a few days.
Thirdly, you assume i have a figure in mind as to what he should be claiming for.
You make an awful lot of assumptions don't you!
Fourthly, yes i agree that insurance claims are high. Do claims like this influence that ? quite possibly, but they were high many years ago before the compensation culture anyway.
I was asking questions, not making any assumptions but it does seem to have touched on a raw nerve!
I hope that you are aware that from the 1st Oct 2014 a raft of new measures has been introduced by the government to tackle the compensation culture problem e.g. uncontested claims for compensation for minor injuries suffered in road accidents has been reduced to less than half what it was, so you have missed the boat!
There are new reforms to medical assessment for whiplash claims which will drive out fraud.
Go Google.

I think the matter is simple the OP gets the instructors registration number hands it to their solicitor who can then follow up with Askmid search (the fee's for this will come out of the court fee and expenses award the solicitor will receive or direct form insurers).
OP's son can try and "use" the police as a "tool" to gain this info but i think the police will shut the door on it.
there some leeway on delayed injuries the police will record it after the fact I.E 24 - 48 hours but months later is taking the "P" to be honest as there is clearly an alternative motive behind the report.
Why do you think guessing, making things up and plucking numbers out of thin air is helpful?0 -
It sounds to me the driving instructor has not informed the insurance company of the accident and got the other driver to pay for the damage to the instructors car.
Can't think of any other reason the driving school does not want to pass the others drivers details on to your son.
If I was your son I would find another instructor cancelling the next lessons after he phones them for details of the other driver is not on.0 -

The driving instructor can deal with the damage to his car any way he wishes. So giving the details of the third party to the son shouldn't be a problem to him.0 -
Just had a Google about and there is a form 518a which is a request for rtc report if the instructor informed the police you might be able to get the other drivers details from it.
Tryed to download the form to see whatit says but it would not let me. If you can't download the form might be worth going into your local police station and picking one up.0 -
If he has not informed the insurance company probably does not want the son phoning them up and making a whiplash claim.0

Did the collision happen in the Met Police area then?0 -

But the son can claim straight off the third party insurance and not the driving instructors. There is no need to call the instructors insurance.0 -
