The thing about this, is it could all go the other way.
I.e if the driving instructor, or the driving instructor's insurance company refuse to provide the third party details there doesn't seem to be anything more that can be done to chase it successfully.
They have no legal obligation to pass on the details of the third party as far as i'm aware.
If the accident management company can't progress their claim, they will often pursue the person claiming for their costs to date. Usually around 1.5k
I'd never ask someone to start a claim unless i had a sure way of getting the person's details who i want to claim from. All your base are belong to us.0 -
My mistake on the forms been standard must be a similar form from the op local police force.0

(Oh that's a rhetorical question BTW).
Jump on his bandwagon why don't you. Was it not in the context of injury?
Thing is you've said if there's an injury a driving instructor must ask for an ambulance. Other than you who else says that?0 -

Can't think of any other reason the driving school does not want to pass the others drivers details on to your son.
Sadly, I can.
OP, this is not intended as a dig, but are you absolutely 100% confident that your son's version is actually what happened?
The reason I ask is that one situation which could explain everything you've experienced is if the accident was actually your son reversing into something.
Instructor would be unlikely to come to your door, there would be no other driver's insurance to claim off, and they may well not want to respond to solicitors letters regarding something that didn't happen that way and that they don't want to get involved in.
17 year olds are quite capable of "adjusting" events in the retelling to lessen their blame. In fact, on her first driving practice with me my step daughter drove (actually deliberately turned!) straight off the side of the road and through our fence within about 15 yards of starting off - I started to say "turn left at the junction", she heard "turn left" and did!
Her immediate reaction after we'd stopped was "it wasn't me"!0 -

Personally, I think a few days discomfort and no loss of earnings is not really worth the bother of a claim. It's just one of those things that happen in life. If he had any kind of permanent injury, I would be with you 100%.Je suis sabot...0

you answered a rhetorical question BTW :T.
you also seemed to have placed MUST with he is to in my comment about this when reading it which also suggests you like to twist other peoples comments to suit your argument.
"other than you who else says that?" unless you can prove, im utterly and totally wrong in saying HE IS TO, then whom are you to tell me otherwise and keep repeating yourself when you quote me, repetition is not going to get you anywhere, and certainly saying that I'm guessing, or making things up because you do not understand or comprehend what responsibilities a instructor has to his pupils or understand common sense where it needs to be applied is not my problem but yours.0
