Another update, apparently his wife has been in contact with the Solicitors and got the money together. Supposedly she is going to send it in by CHAPS tomorrow???. Who knows what to believe any more???. But on the long shot that money does show up tomorrow we can try to complete again on Wednesday.
Then everyone sues everyone else down the chain for damages, Wednesday will be the third time we have moved out and our third set of removal charges in less than a week.
And it's due to snow Wednesday apparently?? but we don't care we would rather walk to the new place with just the cats and the clothes on our back and know we have completed, rather than stay in this limbo any longer.
I would imagine across the chain they have already exceeded the 17K in potential damages with interest on all these houses at bank base rate +4%, 9 x removal fees, bills for hotels, extra solicitors fees, food, clothes and other essentials that people in the chain have needed.
Will let you know tomorrow if the funds are actually in place for a completion on Wednesday.0 -

Is it Noel Edmonds?
Don't be daft.
Noel wouldn't be seen dead buying a 500k house...

How have you incurred more removal costs? Nothing should be actively happening until a revised completion date is agreed and set by all in the chain. You don't keep the vans turning up day after day just in case!Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -
Fingers crossed for you OP - have just read your threads with mounting horror. I think perhaps I will never move."'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life

Your stuff is safely in storage. Leave it there until you HAVE completed, then arrange a day with the removals co. once you are in.0

Assuming that does not conflict with the requirement for the OP to mitigate their losses incurred for the breach of contract by the buyer."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -

Would cost them less than the guys turning up every day, I'd have thought.0 -
Well we had one lot of removal costs for original completion day (as anyone would). Then a second lot for today as we were told we would complete today (and you are in breech yourself if you don't vacate on day of completion. And we will have the third lot on Wednesday (fingers crossed). Plus it was £350 for a partial late evening unload last Friday back at home because it was so late. Plus storage costs now etc etc.
Unfortunately unlike a normal completion where you get notice, with a late completion you get no notice so it's all a bit of a juggle. You have to be prepared to move EVERY day no matter what it is completely out of your hands. Everything crossed the money comes in tmoz.

But if you stopped unloading the van(s), then you wouldn't have to keep paying the guys to load them again.0
