I agree with this
Documents like passports, paperwork on your property, driving licence, birth certs can be quietly removed now and left in the safe keeping of a friend or relative (preferably one he isn't in contact with) so if he does pick up the vibe from you all essential paperwork is available to you.
Do you have any joint accounts ?
Add treasured photos to the list of stuff to get out now and store.
Think about what you will say and when to your children- remember they too may have treasures not to be left behind.
Has he any weekends away planned -or could you "treat him" to an event he'd like away from home to give you time to get your stuff out at a weekend - or would a work day be easier to arrange ?I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
No, we have never had anything joint, he was always a bit anti commitment actually in hindsight I'm glad he was!
The tenants will be leaving next weekend she has a part rent part buy place and my rents all paid up to date so all good there.
Tenants warned me there's a damp wall in the bedroom and its going to be a bit of a "money pit" I must admit the financial side is worrying me a bit, I don't earn a very good wage also worried about feeling lonely! Though I know it's better to be alone than in an unhappy relationship.
I'm seriously thinking about selling the "money pit" and buying a new build!0 -
Is everything going OK, happytravells?
Is he still oblivious to your plans?
Will you have enough time to get all your and your daughters' stuff out when he's not in the house?
Get settled in the house and then take stock of what you are going to do next.
You can think about possibly moving later, the damp patch may not be as bad as the tenants have told you or be rectified very easily and cheaply.
Maybe do a SOA (Statement of Affairs) and post it on the Debtfree wannabe board.
You don't need to be in debt to post on there, very nice friendly helpful posters & you'll get lots of good suggestions to reduce your expenditure.
You could also think about a 2nd job, maybe evening work that will get you meeting people.
When my first marriage broke up, I worked in a pub at the weekend,
It got me out of the house and gave me a bit of much-needed income too.
Good luck.0
