Spend of £3.59 today. I had to buy a new coriander plant as mine gave up the ghost and I needed some for the veggie bean burgers I was making. Also needed rolls and sweet potatoes for wedges.:)

Hey well ill wade in with my £26.65 spent in aldi today, I'm a bit cross, as wasn't going to buy much and only wanted to spend up to £25, but I did get 84 nappies. and i managed to get butternut, pears, sweet potato and pineapple all for 49p each. The rest was spent on staples like tinned tomatoes and cheese and milk etc.

I'm hoping I can make the £73 last til the end of the month, especially as OH has just announced he's home next week for the rest of the month.

I am on a quest to buy healthier better, local food, and have just started researching it and where to get things from, but until I can source it, I am going to have to do the best I can, and buy british etc.

Over yesterday and today we've spent £42.52.

That brings our total to £80.56 so far this month.
Should have enough fruit and vegetables for the week. OH has stuff for his work lunches although he may need to buy another loaf of bread later in the week. The loaf he likes costs £1.60  . Still better that than £3+ for lunches bought at the SM near his work.

One week in for us and I have spent 182.57 of our £500 budget leaving 317.43 left to get us through all household groceries/ cleaning/ toiletries till the 28th, but I am determined and we seem to be well stocked up on everything? ( this can change very quickly depending on how hungry the menfolk are!!

Confession time- I must admit £30 of this was on takeout for 5 adults this past Saturday but as it's not very often we do this and I intend to factor this into the £500 grocery bill, I have decided to forgive and forget the incident ( having spent Sunday wringing my hands about such an expensive treat, downside of being mse-ish for so long)

Have recently started with checkoutsmart and shopitize and have found them useful coupled with mymoneysupermarket. I have had over £50 refunded to me since March 18th on things I would normally buy or am trying for free so quite impressed with that.

Hope everyone is managing to control those pesky budgets and more than that are happy and healthy. Talk soon

After my bacon mega-bargain on Saturday, I did the weekly shop yesterday. I went to a$da, and although the food element didn't come to that much more than aldililly, I spent quite a lot on extras :@ like a paddling pool, a new towel, ... Thankfully they don't come from this budget, but they still come from somewhere! That's one of the reasons I much prefer aldililly, and the queues at a$da!!! Anyway, £17.38 spent on groceries for the week, so total is currently sitting at a fairly comfortable £21.16.

    Night all,

.......loo rolls & eggs, both of which I got in Icel*nd. If you haven't tried the Petal loo rolls I think they are definitely worth a try @ £1 for 4 rolls.
I get the Nicky loo rolls from F. F**ds at £4 for 18. I find them quite good :)

    Managed another NSD here today

We had chicken curry made from the l/o roast from Sunday and have made stock from the bones and enough pickings for soup.

Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday

Unfortunately we don't have a F.F**ds anywhere near us so the Icel*nd ones are the best value for us.

Another £2.90 down as I needed beans and toilet roll and had to run to the corner shop! Almost halfway through my monthly budget already, which is pretty eye-opening - I never would have guessed how all the random extras add up, somehow. Going to be extremely careful for the rest of the month - at least I'm stocked up on the essentials now so it should just be perishables I need to buy :)
