I had an amazing bargain at family bargains today. They sell 907(?!?) grams of bacon bits for 99p, which is a great price, better than a$da. Bf and I picked up one each, but they went through the till at 49p!!! So we went and picked up the other 8!! He had 4, and I have the other six. Awesome bargain, too good to miss out on. I shall split and freeze them, for sarnies, quiches, carbonara, breakfasts, etc. This little lot will last me for months!! About 5.5kg for £2.94!

Wasn't planning on spending until Monday, but felt that was justifiable. The list for Monday is very short, thank goodness!!

Went shopping in aldi today. Spent £40 exactly (couldn't do that again if I tried!)
I got a few extra bits for the following week as I am planning to go to tesco instead of aldi as I have a voucher and I inow that there are some things that are either cheaper in aldi our that we prefer the aldi version. Also got some washing tabs which we didn't really need but they were on offer!
Loving their 49p pineapples!!! Ds1 asked for another on ethis week!

Popping to the market today for fruit and veg.

Don't need to buy anything for this week, but I only go once a month so it's the cheapest way to get it for later in the month - I'll just need to do prep to freeze it when I get back.

Generally spend around £10, but will update the sig when I get back.
That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

House Bought July 2020 - 19 years 0 months remaining on term
Next Step: Bathroom renovation booked for January 2021
Goal: Keep the bigger picture in mind...

Hey, have managed a few NSDs which is very unusual for me! Have had a bit of a rethink. Have set myself an even harder challenge!!! I have just watched food unwrapped, now I usually avoid these programmes, but goodness! I'm on a quest to only eat wholesome unprocessed food, and organic as far as I can afford! This is going to be super tight this month on a £25 a week budget this week!!!!! But I like a challenge! I may have to shop around a bit. Will do
Some research this afternoon, a veg meat box might be the answer?

Well had a good day today, i went through the cupboards and made a list of what i had, then made a menu for the week and have just been shopping for the things i need, I took the list and £50 with me, no cards, I went to aldi's for the most of my shop but to asda for the things i couldn't get ,I am delighted to say i have come home with £13.76 change and that is after paying the toll bridge of £1.50 to get there in the first place. I haven't shopped with cash for years, it is amazing how it makes you really think about what you are buying. I stuck religiously to the list, another first . Now i will spend tomorrow making soups for work and cakes to satisfy y other half's sweet tooth. I really feel as if i have achieved something, it is not unusual for me to spend £100 plus on a Sunday when i do the weekly shop normally.
  • ok well went to my local sains for snacks and spent 20 quid and had to endure a bodged up fire drill to boot normally I wouldn't moan fire drills have to be done but I asked a member of staff should we leave the building her and a lad replied I don't no I don't think so then quarter of an hour later and bell still going after id just reached the checkout they ushered all of us outside didn't tell us where to go no one new what was happening total bodge job when we finally went in there were trolleys and baskets everywhere where people had just gone home and left it oh well I suppose makes the shopping slightly different even though I have now got a headache lol

Don't think i'm doing that great this month, already at £190.50/£350 and have just shy of 4 weeks left! BUT, I do have a freezer full and lots in the cupboards. My DH has been out a couple of times to get just a couple of things that we've needed and every time has come back with more than was on his list!
Have a mystery shop at Lidl on Tuesday, have never been before (I do use aldi though), I've checked their deals and will be picking up some aubergines and mushrooms for a couple of veggie meals this week as well as some cheap apples. Will probably grab milk & eggs. I have a £5 spend limit. I'm interested to see whats its like :)
Anyway, goals for this week is to have a few NSD (haven't managed one yet this 'month'....) and not let the DH run to the shops for things! Ha, shame, he's only doing me a favour and trying to help his 8 month preggo OH out!
