I'm hoping to declare at no more than £200 (managed on less than that in April), and ideally I'd like the shop spend to be no more than DS1's contribution with the rest coming from long-term stock (which I buy from myself). For May that's a shade over £106 with £13 of that already ear-marked for his milk, but it should be possible 'cos I did it on slightly less in April and I've promised myself I'll think twice before buying 'junk' food which accounted for just over £20 of shop spends in April !!
6 days into the month, so that's about 20%
Means I should be looking at a total 'spend' of no more than £40, with no more than £20 in the shops
Currently at total 'spend' of £68, with £56.10 of that from shops (making my split far to heavy on the shop side). However a lot of the shop purchases have been Whoopsies, so I've actually only handed over £32.42 leading me to decide I may have to settle for what I hand over being less than DS1's contribution to the budget
But I have bought a total of 19 quarter-pounder burgers (19 portions, so will last a few months), 12 good quality sausages (6 portions), a beef joint (for 3 of us a week on Saturday), a small-ish pizza for a light 'after work' meal for DS1, 4 of the 10 ready meals I need to get in for him for this month, plus made a double batch of enchilladas today with 3 portions of those away for him (should cover another 2 of the required ready meals plus 1 for next month) and 1 for me. Looks like I'm going to have to add coffee to my 'from stock' figures in the next week though, and that's another £11 (for a 500g tin)Cheryl0 -
Sorry i've been ill and rished off my feet for months nows. I remember someone saying about cat food and pet supplies and where i get them fron.
Cat litter wood based 30 litres is £5.99 from B&M it is absolutely fantastic.
Nappy sacks biodegrable 100 for £1 (poundland)
When the cats use the litter trays for a stinky one i use nappy sacks to dispose of them. Keeps the litter fresh and use less litter in the long run.
cat biscuits complete food I normally buy pets at home or any supermarket brand for the cats. ~Think we buy 4kgs for a month. So £12 ish
But i have found this on amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003ZGGQKY?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00
10kgs of Whiskas biscuits for £17.60
Bit more expensive but seems to be one of the better deals and its delivered straight to our door. Free postage. To be honest only buying it from amazon as i'm being lazy
Cat food wet 24 tins of wet food. 2 each day between the six cats.
Now i've been trying different ones. But this brand seems to be adored by my six fur babies.

Supercat Premium Chunks Variety 400 g (Pack of 12) £7.08
Which i order two and have them delivered to the door.
I have five cats and order fourty cans and 5kg of biscuits every three weeks from Z**plus. The food costs more than I used to pay, but is better quality and not full of fillers.I also buy 40L of cats best oko litter lasts forever (about six months) and I deposit poop in the Litter Champ (like a Nappysan type thing). I used to buy four bags of value/smartprice litter a week but it didnt last two minutes and it stunk. The oko one is brilliant, doesnt smell when theyve peed and you can scoop out the dirty bits and top up with clean.GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £155.15/150 July £89.90/£150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month. Hi all,
Another 4.35 spent on perishables, leaving us with about 300 for the next 3 weeks so I'm fairly hopeful as have a fair amount of stock in (although still a fairly large running list going for t'shops-some items needed, others to be bought for stocks if their prices are the price I wish to pay) also my first (and last ) Gousto box is coming tomorrow (already accounted for). If I can manage to meet the budget this month, it is my intention to set the same budget for June and July to see if that is sustainable and if that proves so I will then lower by £25 a month until down to £400???
£400 is the dream number as that would mean the boys board (£500 total) would cover Groceries and the dual fuel bill of £100 per month (pitched to build up a buffer in summer to cover winter bills) but I am not convinced we could cut it back that much as the age of the boys means we function (eating wise anyway) at about 30% family (1 central cook) and 70% houseshare (multiple cooks). But we function on one centralised shopper (me) so it's still more efficient than separate shoppers. But I am aiming for that £400 as the dream number to be in place by 2016 for sure.
Love to all and keep them purses shut!!

A fairly small shop today split between Icel*nd & Mr Ts of £14.67 giving a total so far of £32.56/£250. Have also spent some money on beer but that comes from a separate budget so not included in GC.
Yesterday was another NSD so now 5/20 so far for May.

Hi everyone,
Budgets updated to here
Welcome/welcome back to:
Pablosmummy, UMD, missymoo81, rdone, piglet27, AimingForBetter, teeni and Tidgysue
Good luck all.
My DD has decided to become vegan so had to trek to T's on Tuesday to get suitable snacks and dairy equivalent products. I think she will find it hard going, and have told her as much. DH is really pipped off - not that it affects him in any way as he neither shops or cooks!!
Had a large shop at Aldi last Friday. Will need F&V over the next few days and will hopefully get back to Aldi on Sunday time permitting.
Have a good evening all.
