    Just popped back to say...
:rotfl: TRU :rotfl: SO With you! For a few days we had JUST enough water to fill a toilet cistern .... and I found myself doing a little "wooo woo woo" dance when it flushed! :rotfl: Might even clean the oven when we get water!
Tootsie Well done! I hope to get kitchen clear too one day - keep it up!
Juliapenguin - change is ALWAYS hard, but it will be better in the long time. I admit, I don't miss the cattiness of the crew I was working with, but I do miss the good times. It's a long road we tread (hopefully!). We're here for you.
Natzini You have ROOT Beer! So not fair; it's the one fizzy pop I like and I think we're hours away from a Wing Yip. (BTW did you want to know that my friend cr.card got cloned in the Wing Yip near Croydon a few years ago. It was the charges made in China that gave it away)
    Jet77 and rchddap1 - sorry for your troubles :(

It gets worse. Turns out the people who have moved in next door are in the same situation as us, with the same lender....but they can move in and we're not allowed to exchange never mind complete

    Hi again,

As predicted, I ended up working three hours overtime. Still, managed to get loads out of the way, which means less to do tomorrow.

Phoned my joiner-chappy and the little darling has said that he will pick up the doors for me on Wednesday. :j :j :j How sad am I? Getting excited about new doors.

I work in a (very) small office now but did work in a largish office. I must say I don't miss the office politics at all. Though I didn't really suffer it when I worked there either. I tended not to bottle things up and would let someone know if I thought they were trying to skive or make a fool of me. Work takes up too much of the day to suffer in silence imho.

Came home from work and continued my good work from yesterday. Hopefully after Wednesday I will be able to put my feet up for a couple of days and enjoy the fruits of my labours. In fact, I will start early as I'm beginning to get into my so-so book.

(((hugs))) to those who need/want one.

    Evening all,

have been very busy to-day as OH decided to start sorting out the front of the house...we have a big concrete yard in front and then a garden/lawn area further over to the front. Means that we have just one very small (about 10ft X 1ft6in) flower bed near the house so use window boxes and pots to brighten it up...unfortunately means that we (I!) keep adding pots and the front, according to DD4 was starting to look like an abandoned plant nursery. Managed to get bed finished and looking very smart, so that's a quarter of the front done...three more fine days required please, whoever organises the weather.

Visited cousin whose grandson is the same age as DGS2, so my 2 dgss and dgd and their dgs had a great time, cousin is great at making tree houses and other hidey holes for Jay to play in...he is coming here for a repeat in the morning, DD3 has put up her tent to dry out in the back garden so they can have a picnic out there while the adults have coffee in peace...

Happy Birthday Anniestar and PoshPaws!!:bdaycake: :bdaycake:

Hugs to all in need or want, hope that everyone affected by flooding has now got relief and water.

    Have a good evening all

thriftlady - forgot to ask before now - did you watch Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip? What did you think? I enjoyed it but it wasn't as sharp as the West Wing. Still, it was obvious that Aaron Sorkin had written it. I noticed too that Thomas Schlamme was a producer and also directed it so some of the old team still together by the looks of it. Just hope Bradley Whitford (insert swoony smiley here :o ) gets a bigger part in later episodes. I think him and Matthew Perry work quite well together. Interested to see how it develops.

Pen-Pin I'm sorry your MIL felt the need to turn your poor FIL's ill-health into a drama. Some people really seem to thrive on that at everyone else's expense. I hope the news is actually good for your FIL.

Evening everyone, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ANNIESTAR AND POSHPAWS hope you both had a lovley day.

Made the most of it being warm and took the kids out first we went to some woods so the kids could have agood run around and blow away the cob webs then we found a fruit farm the kids had a great time, cant wait till we get our garden sorted so we can get some fruit and vegs in as when i was growing up i couldnt understand why shops sold fruit and veg when it was already in the garden lol and i miss not beingable to nip in the garden to get what i need.I normally raid my dads garden for fruit but he sold some of his garden and sadly some of the fruit trees went with it but the plums overhang into the garden so we still get somthing and my dad still has his apple trees.
Today should have been a baking day but that didnt happen so really need to get it done tomorrow should have done it on sunday but i didnt do anything except make some biscuits which have now all gone,so i'v got to get it done tomorrow as i have no more bread left, I also need to nip into town in the morning which i'm not looking forward to.

Just saw your name on the end of the thread and thought to myself 'drat I forgot to watch that Aaron Sorkin thing:rolleyes: '. Must try and catch it, although I'm not sure I can watch Bradley Whitford be anyone other than Josh. I liked Matthew Perry's appearances inThe West Wing, a pity his character did a Mandy (disappeared).

Kids are driving me insane -well dd is, the boys are OK. It's all this playing out in the street. We live in a cul-de-sac and there are several little girls between 6 and 12.

It's wonderful that they can all play safely, get exercise, use their imaginations, learn about getting along together etc etc, much better than sitting in front of the telly or computer BUT they are driving me MAD.

Dd is forever running in all upset because someone won't let her play, or because I won't let her go round to so and so's garden (yeah, I'm a mean old bag -but I don't want hoardes of little girls round here, so I think it's best if she just stays in the road where I can see her, someone always gets left out of the invitation as well). Then they all start eating junk and not letting dd have any because they say there are eggs and nuts in it (opportunity to be spiteful imo -junk rarely has real food in it).

Dd cried for at least an hour this afternoon because I said she couldn't go to the local woods with neighbour and her daughters plus one other girl -how can you get 4 car seats in a Nova ? Neighbour is very nice but I'd have to give her a crash course on emergency allergy medication before she could take dd anywhere. I wish they'd all go on holiday, or it would start raining again (I know, I know) and give me a bit of peace.

Anyway I took all my kids to a local English Heritage site where they had a great game of hide and seek and I was able to call at the farmshop on the
    way.

I've decided not to go with OH and the kids camping next week (I'm a camping virgin, and I'm worried about the weather), so I'll have a whole week of complete peace and a really good break from everyday motherhood/housewifeness :D Blimey, what shall I do with myself ?
