Happy Birthday Anniestar and Poshpaws - hope you get all the spoiling you deserve
Well .... we were going to the imperial war museum but dd has woken up crotchety and with a sore back - may or may not be connected with the fact that Daddy brought her back at 11pm full of coke - hmmmmm. we have decided to have a quiet morning - her reading harry potter and me being at her beck and call - and then go to the next town to us as it is teeming with charity shops and I need some "new" clothes.
The banana loaf turned out lovely after I had sorted out the ingredients so I think I might do some more baking today. shhhhhhh ..... the s*n is shining so I might risk some washing and gardening. Oh I know what's happened - I have a tent up in the garden to test it's waterproofocity so of course it's not going to rain now. Sorry folks I should have thought of doing that earlier
have a great day

GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR oh has just smashed the jug to the coffee maker.......glass everywhere and he stands bleating he has cut his foot..what the h*** was he doing walking about in bare feet. When I looked at his foot there was a tiny little cut....have put a big plaster on and sent him to get his hair cut out of my way, took the mat which the jug fell on and shook it into a bag, it now on its way into the bin......hoovered the mat to get any slivers that were left out, can't see anything on the mat, or the floor, so hope I have got it all. Have just rung the makers and they are sending me a new one free of charge as the machine is not 12 months old...
Rant over....................
Nice day, sun us shining, hope it stays till tomorrow have another date with the lotti.............nothing much planned for today except to try and fininsh the pillow cases I started on Saturday, we were out most of yesterday so no sewing............
Right I am off to finish my coffee, its probably stone cold by now!!!!!!!!!!!!!September grocery budget........trying for £80, not sure if I will make it though!!!!! I certainly did not last month, lost track of the final bill. Will do better this month honest.

Morning :hello:
Not got long to talk today as I'm super busy at work but thought I had better come on here and show my face as I have been rushing around all weekend with no time to post on here
Happy Birthday to PoshPaws and anniestar :bdaycake:
JackieO - think what you like about the hotch potch of people queuing at the Royal Opera House (it's always like that) but whoever was there over the weekend, it wasn't an opera audience as the opera season finished last week and doesn't pick up again until September(the ballet season is over too). There are always other events going on there such as backstage tours and one-off non-classical events (Elton John has played a gig there, and Bjork... though I'm not aware of what was going on this weekend) Incidentally, about the ticket prices - they ARE very high for the majority of performances (as you know, I subscribe and I normally book far in advance for standing tickets which are between £5 and £20 depending on the show). You as a registered disabled person would be able to get last-minute standby tickets for anything that isn't sold out (this costs £12.50 for ballet and £15 for opera) Also if you sign up for their Access List (their official register of disabled patrons) then you have access to a 50% discount on advance bookings for you and a companion
See Here for further information
I have had an operatic weekend myself (well there's a surprise) I went to Glyndebourne on Saturday for the dress rehearsal of Tristan and Isolde... this was the thing I was given freebies for at the last minute, after I'd been trying and failing for MONTHS to get tickets to one of the performances. It was FANTASTIC :j :j and we had seats in row F of the stalls which, if it had been a proper performance (which in ever other respect it WAS!) would have cost some eye-watering three-figure sum. I was so thrilled to be there as I wanted to see this so badly and didn't think I'd ever manage to get tickets, so THANK YOU VERY MUCH INDEED to my bit-part-singing friend who made it possible :A :A
Then yesterday I went to the Proms (the concert was broadcast on BBC4).
I even managed to get some housework done this morning before work  and my kitchen looks ALMOST tidy :rotfl: Lunch is mushroom risotto and dinner will be chilli. Must try and find time for a trip to the recycling bank and to Asda later on.
Right, I've got to dash - work to do.
Love Rzl xx :wave:Operation Get in Shape

I'm back again, just having a break after mowing the lawn, it's not a big lawn but very bumpy so hard work to mow, hubby usually does it, but he worked Saturday & was sorting out a friends electrics yesterday & I want to get it done while the sun is shining.
Next task is to pack all the ebay stuff up & send it off & then off to the garden centre.
Does anyone on here have a Bernina sewing machine? I have a couple of bobbins that don't fit my machine. I'll post then off to anyone who wants then
Hugs Hester

hello you lovely OSers *waving*
isn't it funny how we all buck up at the first sight of a bit of sun? I can't wait to get home in my dinner hour and put some washing out :T
Well, found out at the weekend that we have tickets to the GALA awards at Claridges in September - its the annual gay and Lesbian Award ceremony, black tie event, went to the last one and had my photo taken with Cilla and Paul O'Grady and Sarah Waters, one of my fave comtemporary authors. it was a fabulous night and so i'm really excited about going again :T:T:T. We've blagged a free minibus and we're stopping in a youth hostel - which makes a wonderful site as we traipse out in our black tie finery. Honestly so excited about this, saw so many celebs last time and the evening was wonderful, its something really lovely to look forward to.
So two things from this
1. I need to lose a lb a week - if i can't do that then I want a slapping
2. I need a frock!!! And OH needs a suit. I sold the last uber posh frock I bought and so have nothing suitable at all - ideas anyone? I went to a ball in February and hired a really nice dress for £50. I've already started looking on Ebay but it can be hit and miss on there whether stuff fits or not. Still I've got plenty of time to think about it. OH will be more of a problem - she's very slight and so a normal blokes suit is going to drown her - we might end up having to look for a boys suit
Happy birthday hugs and way hey its sunny hugs and isnt PMT a witch hugs and just generally hugs all round to everyone who would like one - I'm off to meal plan for next week as long distance OH is spending a whole week with me as we've got a week's holiday together and if I don't meal plan i won't be able to feed her LOL I've got week before payday itis.
Have a lovely sunny day everyone xxxComps £2016 in 2016 - 1 wins = £530 26.2%

I'm back; i've had breakfast + shower, blow-dried hair. That takes a while, it's pretty long.
its sunny here, wish I could go out + garden, but I can't. :-(
Everyone have a good day, off to x stitch now.0 -
Hi Nix
It might be worth hiring a suit for yourOH, when my DD1 got married my DS2 was a very skinny 15 year old & they had suits to fit.
I hope you have a great evening.

MOOKYBARGIRL - the thing is, why do people wear things that irritate the rest of us?!! Shouldn't be allowed; of course, we're all perfect on here, aren't we? I even said to my OH once after I'd had another moan, 'who do I think I am? Little Miss Perfect?' so I know it's wrong. I found it very hard not to comment at the weekend when I saw a little girl, who couldn't have been more than nine years old, in shoes with heels and a midriff-baring top! That's far too young - whatever happened to childhood? I was still in long white socks at 16! (Why does OH's eyes glaze over when I tell him that?!Lol)
NIX143 - look in the charity shops for posh frocks - honest! I've got some really classy evening dresses, some of which cost £1 each - if you're lucky, you'll find a complete outfit with shoes, bag and even jewellery. I attended a posh evening do at Sandown Racecourse once in a get-up that cost about £3.50 and I felt like a million dollars!
Well, I have been to the gym - wonder why sometimes it takes more out of me than others? Maybe it's because I cleaned the windows before I went or the music they played was faster than usual today!! One lady there has obviously hurt her leg because she did the whole circuit with a walking stick and did very well! Good on her to keep it going. Not sure I would!
Anyway, next job is to tackle some office drawers and do some paper-shredding, then lunch, then - maybe some knitting.
The weather is absolutely gorgeous today and I didn't have enough washing for a load so I can't take full advantage of it!
Have a lovely morning, everyone.
See you all later.

Ooooh lots of cake
Happy birthday poshpaws and anniestar
:bdaycake: :bdaycake:
I might get a bit of OSing done today, the water should be back on any minute now. I was going to pop over and see moggins on my way home from work then remembered that she works too so I was going to get mr tru to drive me over later. But he's got a stock-take at work so might be home late  I'll have to get my bike back out. By the time I get there the water'll be back on so she won't need anything
The animals need a clean, I'm holding out for now and will only use the smallest amount of bottled or bowser water (if the tank isn't empty!) if I have to - I'll give it til teatime and see what happens.
Can't believe I'm so excited about doing the washing :rotfl:Bulletproof0
