Hello everyone and especially birthday people ANNIESTAR and POSHPAWS!!!
Last day at work for me which feels quite emotional - I'm leaving for the 'right' reasons - to move on to something which will suit me better (time off then university) but I also feel sad that I hated it so much here and have been counting down the days! When I started there was a man in the office as well as us four women and it was really good fun but when he moved to the US it became quite a different place. I think women are brilliant - why do some women have to be so catty, though? The others are all bosses and I'm the only minion - not a comfortable place to be as we've all got the same level of education and are the same age! Too many chiefs and not enough Indians, I think...
Anyway, I'm claiming lots of the hugs on offer as I've still got raging PMS and there will be tears before bedtime. I've left my purse at home so I can't buy chocolate....
Hugs to all of you too.

:bdaycake: Morning everyone, happy birthday to the birthday guys today
It's OH birthday today too. Not sure if I mentioned but he asked for a baked alaska as his birthday treat. I've never made one. Made the sponge yesterday and scooped the ice cream into a dome shape. Now, all I have to do is make sure I don't melt the ice cream in the oven
It's lovely here today. The best day in ages. I'm deciding whether to work from home and do a few house chores in between or whether to go into the office (only a few of miles away). I'm feeling a bit under the weather today so don't think I'll get much work done either way! lol
Off to make OH breakfast in bed now. Check back in a bit. ((((hugs everyone))))Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -
morning everyone
Happy Birthday to Poshpaws and Anniestar hope you have a great day.
well the family are still in bed apart from the ones who are at work today, i have had my morning fix of heartbeat and thought i would post to motivate myself after i decided to join in flylady this week.
so i guess i will be spending a bit of time in the kitchen today.
its a beautiful day here so the washing will be going out on the line and then i have ironing to do.
have to bake something for the packed lunches for the rest of the week.
think i will strip some beds as its such a nice drying day and have the usual daily jobs which are sooo boring but must be done.
anyways i hope everyone has a great day
take care for now

Mroning all, hope everyone is well, big hugs to anyone who needs them and happy birthday ANNIESTAR and POSHPAWS have a great day.
Right need to get back on track, seriously lost my way lately. Firstly need to declare war on the kitchen and the laundry! Off to collect some chairs for RC club at school hall at about 10.30am (downside is can't get in there to drop them off until a week tomorrow so need to find somewhere to store them), beach this afternoon with the dogs and kids (must remember towels, spare clothes etc) Oh yes, must also check meal plan, really need to use up the excess stock and try to keep to it. **Edited** Oh dear I put curry for today but have changed the delivery which includes the veg and stuff I needed to make it until tomorrow because of having to collect chairs etc, so will have to change it, oh poop, not a good start. One day I might be more organised...........

Good Morning everyone!
And HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all those who are having one today!
Not much happening here; DH gone to work already and I'm goin gto make brekkie in a min, then have ashower (of sorts) and then its back on the ol' cross stitch.
My Dh bought a large sea bass a few weeks ago.... from our butcher! It was £11!!!! I almost smacked him with it, but didn't. Then it went into the freezer, and it came out for dinner last night. When I was removing the gills, he made an offhand comment that the butcher said it had been caught the week before. 'The week before you bought it?? Was it already frozen, or did you freeze it, if it wasn't frozen it would have been rank! Did the butcher thaw it??'
'I dont know' say he. Well if you aren't sure what it was like when you bought it then we arent' eating it! He finally decided that it was frozen when he bought it, so then it was OK to eat. Bloddy men. Had it roasted with a field mushroom each, a yellow pepper and cherry tomatoes, all with spring onion greens, and a little olive oil. Was lovely.
Got the rest of it for dinner tonight. Think I will do potato salad with it and veg.0 -
Happy Birthday PoshPaws and Anniestar!
Had to smile at people wanting to clean up. We still have no water and the washing pile is huge just for the 2 of us! (Mind you OH is tall/large!). The novelty value of being completely water-ecology conscious is starting to wear a little thin!
If any of you saw the news with Winchcombe on it yesterday I'd just like to say that yes, it has been deserted, yes, several pubs have been closed, yes, they chose the prettiest roads to photo and probably one of the poshest houses. They also must have found one of the few people to grumble about the water since most people seem to say that the bowser and water bottle delivery and port-a-loo delivery has been good. Mind you - no photos of the port-a-loos! Oh - and "Technical Tom" has NEVER been known as Technical Tom in all the time I've known him - nosy Tom, grocer Tom, houseclearance Tom etc, but never technical!
Tried the new paint on the walls yesterday - put the edges up on one small wall. Think I hate it.It's going to be too dark. I think I'll see if the local hardware shop will add a dash of white in it and put it in their mixer machine.
Sort of not sure what to do today. Loads of gardening to do but not loads of water to wash up in afterwards. Do have to hoover and de-flea house though. OH hoovered yesterday and filled up one whole Dyson (just 2 days after I'd done similar). Cats have a lot to answer for.
Did start to plan hols with OH - whoopee! Already planning to have hot sunny hols at end Jan as last ones SAD terrible.
Have a good one.0 -

TTFNDo what you love :happyhear0 -
JACKIEO - I hope they get you a laptop and internet connection when you are in hospital - how are we going to cope without our daily episodes of 'Jackie O - Live and Kicking!' Like you, I love people-watching - it's very entertaining, but I remember one day recently, we were driving back from town (DH was driving so I was just looking round) and we stopped at traffic lights; there was a chap waiting to cross who must have thought he looked like Jack Nicholson because he'd tried to dress and do his hair the same way. I looked him up and down, thinking how ridiculous he looked, not dreaming that he could see me, and he shouted 'Cow!!' straight through our open passenger window! I was shocked at first then realised that I must have had a snooty critical look on my face which annoyed him. I' haven't seen him since but that may be because he has changed the way he looks! Lol!:rotfl: :rotfl:
Well, I have cleaned all the downstairs windows - that was because I took the kitchen curtains down for washing and was too ashamed to hang them back over dirty windows. The sun had shown up all the filth on them! Still, a going over with the white vinegar solution and newspaper and they look pretty good. DH usually does them if I flutter my eyelashes helplessly at him but he's not here so I had no choice. I wonder if that means I can ignore the upper-body-strength apparatus at the gym later?! We do something called 'window-wipes' - well, I've already done mine!
I only sat down here for a minute while the iron is warming up to press the curtains and here I still am - this site is so addictive. Iron has just beeped it's readiness at me so must go! Hope the sun is shining where you are!
