    Wow...that's amazing...congratulations.

We're a hair's breadth from getting our house...but an issue has come up that may mean we don't get it. Ahhhhh. Sometimes I could just scream. I've had this feeling for a long time that something will go wrong that will mean we don't get it. Its looking like I may be right.

tru glad ur waters back on

juliapenguin glad u had a good send off

Haven't got time to read everything I've missed at mo coz have got to pick kids up. I just logged on to say that I had a lovely day at work however when I got home at 3.15 pm the alarm on my phone went off to remind me I had the dentist at half past (good job coz I'd totally forgotten).

I HAD A ROOT FILLING AND IT HURT LOADS AND LOADS :(:(:(

I think what made it worse is that he didnt even tell me I was going to have a filling let alone one of those nasty things :(

Just got in from charity shop heaven - among other things a karen millen sparkly top for £3 - also got a gap dress, another dress, 2 shirts for work and two floaty blouses - Nix143 - there were some lovley formal dresses there too so you never know - you might even get a suit for your OH - after all the boys all dress up for their prom nights don't they and then keep right on growing - good luck. BTW have you stayed in a hostel before and which one are you staying at - if it's not a proper YHA then try to book a private room. I stayed in one at Kings X over christmas in a mixed dorm and one night the stink of one bloke kept us all awake. While I was there I met a friend I haven't seen in ages so we popped into the bakery for coffee and cake. Me and dd shared a huge flaky pastry cream thing but it did have some fruit on it so we think it does count as one of our five-a-day - just like carrot cake :)

not looking forward to work tomorrow - there has been some trouble iwth a woman on my section. We are all on flexi but someone has to stay until five each night which we work out on a rota. Well if one of us is going to stay till then anyway then they let the allocated person know so that she can go home - not this lady - there is always trouble and she will purposefully leave a 4.55. on friday i swapped with another woman as her mum was in hospital and told the other lady that she could go as well if she wanted as there wasn't much to do. well she told me she needed the hours so i said well in that case I'll go and you stay. No she decided she was going right there and then at 4.15 and off she went. Well at 5.20 she walked back into the office - she had been hiding somewhere else in the building rather than let me go but still making up flexi. i have been thinking about this all weekend as i thought it was pretty spiteful and also meant that I didn't see my dd before her dad picked her up for the weekend but I don't really know what to do - i suppose I could blab to the manager but it's not really my style but on the other hand the way I'm feeling right now about it I think my style might be to slap her.

Spinach pancakes for dinner but using the neverending chard instead of spinach - could have just said chard pancakes couldn't I. I have also picked some carrots and beans from the garden to go with. I noticed that there is a kohl rabi ready to be picked so get you're thinking caps on for something to do with it as we have never even seen one before and are clueless

omg mioliere. I'm always getting into trouble for things like that. OH says I don't seem to know how loud I am when I say things like "that skirt is far too short" or "legs like those should be in trousers" - lmao :rotfl:[/quote

MOOKYBARGIRL - the thing is, why do people wear things that irritate the rest of us?!! Shouldn't be allowed; of course, we're all perfect on here, aren't we? I even said to my OH once after I'd had another moan, 'who do I think I am? Little Miss Perfect?' so I know it's wrong. I found it very hard not to comment at the weekend when I saw a little girl, who couldn't have been more than nine years old, in shoes with heels and a midriff-baring top! That's far too young - whatever happened to childhood? I was still in long white socks at 16! (Why does OH's eyes glaze over when I tell him that?!Lol)

NIX143 - look in the charity shops for posh frocks - honest! I've got some really classy evening dresses, some of which cost £1 each - if you're lucky, you'll find a complete outfit with shoes, bag and even jewellery. I attended a posh evening do at Sandown Racecourse once in a get-up that cost about £3.50 and I felt like a million dollars!

Well, I have been to the gym - wonder why sometimes it takes more out of me than others? Maybe it's because I cleaned the windows before I went or the music they played was faster than usual today!! One lady there has obviously hurt her leg because she did the whole circuit with a walking stick and did very well! Good on her to keep it going. Not sure I would!

Anyway, next job is to tackle some office drawers and do some paper-shredding, then lunch, then - maybe some knitting.
The weather is absolutely gorgeous today and I didn't have enough washing for a load so I can't take full advantage of it!

    Have a lovely morning, everyone.
    See you all later.

kholrabi are great - you just peel it and chop it up and have it raw, or peel it grate it and add a little mayo (like coleslaw). Also good in a stirfry. Mild + sweet.

TRU - I'm so pleased for you! Water! Well done you for coping without it. Enjoy all you'll be able to do from now on!

    Welcome KERRYHAWK!

JULIAPENGUIN - must be an emotional day for you! I know it was for me when I finished my last job.

RCHDDAP 1 - good luck with the house. If it's meant to be,it's meant to be, as my mum would say, but it must be nerve-wracking for you.

JET - poor you - root canal! You obviously still had a bit of 'vital' nerve left in there - that's usually what causes the pain. Hope you're feeling less sore now.

STEFEJIB - there's always one at work, isn't there, who messes things up for everyone else. In my last job, one of the girls was 15 to 20 minutes late every single morning but, as the boss was always late, he never noticed so she got away with it. The thing is, someone had to be there dead on 8 am because we'd have patients queueing up outside the door and it wasn't fair to keep them waiting, especially in the winter time. Amongst other things, it was one of the reasons I had to leave;I couldn't tell the boss because it would feel like snitching and dropping big hints to her that she was too thick-skinned to recognise didn't work so - I ended up seething underneath my smile and wanting to give her a good slapping! Working with other people is meant to be a team effort - that way, everyone's happy but some people just don't get it, do they?

Well, rant over and work to be done - have nearly finished giving my office drawers a good turn out - didn't realise I had so many pens! I'm going to see what else I can find.

    See you later

    Afternoon all!

    Gosh, I am so tired!

I was very busy all weekend, and almost all of last week, so I guess it's only natural for it to catch up with me!

This morning was busy too, picked up OH from work, then we went to the bank and PO and OH treated us to some chippy chips for lunch, yum! Came back and flicked through the magazines I subscribe to (well one of which I get free, it's Guiding magazine you see) and wanted to crash out! So I've given up on Ebay listings today, and can do some tomorrow instead.

Yesterday I went to Wing Yip after I'd worked-came back with 4 cans of A&W Root Beer (love it loads and now want a crate of it, hehe), 5 litres of white vinegar and 3kg of Bicarb!!

Am just sorting out some recipes I've found recently to be printed and added to my recipe folder, and then i guess I'll put another load in the wm, and sort the dw out!

Happy birthday to Anniestar and Poshpaws!

Huge hugs to those who need/want xx

Kathy - so glad you understand! My DH and my Mum think I should be dancing around shouting and I just feel very weepy. Even though I've been desperate to go, it still feels awful, like I've failed, even though they were a catty bunch a lot of the time and I never had enough to do. I'm sure I'll feel better tomorrow.

Thanks to you and everyone else for your support. I never thought that seeing a thank you click (if you know what I mean) would be such an encouragement - it's an acknowledgement of your existence, isn't it?!

    Nerve racking is one word.

We're stuck with family. House can't complete because road adoption not in place. Vendor can't do anything about it and won't agree to the one option open to sort this out. We can't sit around for months waiting for the road adoption.

Result = stalemate. And we're the ones with the time problem.
