Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today which happens to be Anniestar and PoshPaws' birthdays. Happy birthday ladies!! This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning everyone
I was just going to lurk about in the background like I've been doing recently, but noticed that today is a VERY IMPORTANT DAY TIMES TWO and so have to say nice and loud....

I hope you both have a fantastic day - may your cakes be very large, very tasty and calorie free...
Back in the land of SnowyOwl there still isn't an awful lot to report. I did manage a bit of backbreaking housework yesterday:rolleyes: as AnnieBookLover was putting me to shame! Mind you I am not expecting a visit from joiner or anybody else, but Kim & Aggy can now strike me off their list...
JuliaPenguin, how are you today? Hope you are feeling a bit brighter and can enjoy your last day at w*rk.
It's Monday, ughhhh!! Say no more, I think I will attempt to revisit the Land of Nod and send some zzzzzzzzzzzzs into space.
Have the best Monday you can everyone.
SnowyOwl
PS: Bon voyage to HariboJunkie and her OH and their little sweeties as they travel over the sea to N.Ireland.

Morning SNOWY and all who follow and Happy Birthday to ANNIESTAR and POSHPAWS :bdaycake: :bdaycake: - have a brilliant day. Another full night's sleep again, fourth night on the run, but the glass of what JackieO calls Vino Colappsio must have helped!
I had a happy couple of hours last night on the phone to my mum and various other family members; my mum asked me a couple of questions - how much is $300 in sterling and could I find out the address of the head office of Nat West bank and phone her back. The fact that I found the answers there and then really amazed her - I don't think she has any idea how the internet works and how much info is there at your fingertips in seconds!
Plan today is: take down kitchen curtains and wash them; sort out spare room and try and make it look like Anthea's guest room - I have family staying on Wednesday night on the first leg of their journey to France (we're only 20 mins from the ferry port), post one parcel and three birthday cards. Oh, and another parcel - I have found the most brilliant pens in the Card Gallery for .99p each. They're really elegant, black with pink spots or pink with black spots, and they make my handwriting look look a lot better than it really is - I love a good pen and I have bought several of these to put away for Christmas (I have one of each for myself!) but I'll send two to mum now because she does a lot of letter-writing and loves to write poetry - I'm sure she'll love them. I will package them up with a bar of her favourite dark chocolate and a set of photos of DS1's wedding in Italy. I'm expecting the photos within three days - it's the first time I've used Jessops (through Quidco, of course, although the travel insurance I took out through Quidco declined the £10 I earned - I need to look into that) so I hope they turn up within that time. Minimal food prepping today (it's still just me here!) - lunch will be something with cheese and dinner will be some of the ready-cooked non-OS-cheat's chicken I bought on Saturday, salad and new pots and a handful of strawberries and yog for pud. This 'cooking' for one is so easy! I will visit Curves later in the morning and then I have some drawers to sort out and I must go through my clothes and sort out some for charity bags - so, plenty to keep me busy.
Going to have a shower now so see you all later. Have a good day and (((((((hugs)))))))) to all in need or who just wants one (or several - I have loads).

Happy birthday Annie and Poshpaws!
Up early today as have to take DH to station. He's got a mtg in central London at 8.30.
Just popped on while making tea.
Gym today for the first time in three weeks (!); have to phone Miele about the DW, think we're still ikn warranty; need to phone up about some bits for the seating area, we've worked out what we need but the pricelist I have doesn't have this stuff on; andwill do some serious gardening if the weather stays nice.
Gotta go, tea is ready, and I need my shower.
Pop back later xxx0 -
Good Morning all
Hugs & Happy Birthdays as appropriate.
We are due 2 dry days here in Berkshire, so today I plan to mow the lawn, I'll wait till later as I will not be popular if I start it this early.
The fish have been fed & so have Thumper & Ogden, I have to go to the garden centre today & get some bark to replace the stuff that we lost in the recent bad weather. I will also go to the post office to post some Ebay parcels.
Hope everyone has a good day
Hester

Hi all :hello: and a very Happy Birthday to Poshpaws and Anniestar :bdaycake: :bdaycake: I hope you both have a lovely day.
Sunny here, yay, so I'm about to put the washing machine on with the sheets which hopefully will get dried on the line. Then it's out for my usual Monday morning walk with friends and then on to WW (waste of time this week) and I also need to drop my mum's coat off at the dry cleaners for her. Then I have to do some practice for a choir rehearsal tonight as I haven't learnt the music yet
Yesterday turned into a crumble-fest :rotfl: I discovered that our rhubarb plant in the garden had turned into a triffid, must have been all the rain or something so DS and I pulled up a ton of it and I spent the rest of the day making five, yes, FIVE crumbles, one of which DH and I snarfed for pudding last night and the other four had to be found beds in the freezer, luckily I had defrosted it the other week and updated my freezer list so I knew I could shove those babies in SOMEWHERE......
Brekkie: grilled tomatoes on toast
Lunch: pasta and pesto salad
Dinner: chicken and rice pot made with yesterday's cold chicken
Have decided it's time to get my backside into gear and restart the Flying which has sadly taken a back seat over the past few weeks so I'm off now to do 15 minutes hastily clearing up downstairs while the washing machine does its magic on the sheets.
Have a lovely day, everyone

Morning!!
My PMT is slowly passing methinks. I've got to learn to recognise it (usually when I start crying over nothing) and then lock myself away and really look after myself until it's gone (4days - a week). I've figured hot baths, hot chocolate, hot water bottles and chocolate. I need to unplug the phone so I cant be moody with anyone and am able to concentrate on not being moody to those I can't help coming in to contact with (i.e. children, colleagues).
I've got work today so will drop DD's off and then enjoy the train ride (only 10 mins) in with a good book. After work I'm going to go to Aldi/Greengrocers and get what I need (chocoloate (lol), weetabix, milk, cheese, ham, veg, fruit). My brothers staying over with his fiance 2night so I need to cook veggie and simple.
Anyway, off to do DD's lunch boxes,
Hope every1 has a gr8 day and ((((HUGS)))) to those who need/want them.

Morning all
Another sunny day, and that's 3 on the trot, has Su**er arrived - don't want to say the word in case it frightens it away :rotfl:
Forgot to put the cooked chicken into the fridge last night, so will have to decide whether to use it tonight, or throw it away. If I use it, think I will do Mexican Chicken and home made potato wedges.
Lots to do today, noticed there is 50% off sale at Matalan, so will go later to see if I can get any t-shirts, one of the benefits of going away in October, I usually manage to get things in the sales
Hope everyone has a good day, and :bdaycake: and :grouphug: to everyone as required xYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0
