Not only that Lewt, I am like Worzel Gummidge, one of my all time favourite children's TV shows. I can take my head right off and replace it with another if I want to change my thinking.............................................................................I wish.

I'm struggling at the moment. Been talking with sponsor, and she feels that I should really go into treatment for another addiction. Annoyingly NHS and Husband don't support that view. Something needs to change, but I don't know what.

Made some ammends, not all. Sponsor thinks that the last three steps aren't really going to work while I'm living in active addiction.

Sometimes we don't get what we want even though it is reasonable. When I joined AA treatment centres just didn't exist. People had to get on with it. I don't mean to sound harsh but if the NHS isn't going to pay and you don't have the money to pay privately then you do not have the option of treatment. Without knowing what the other addiction is I do not know what to suggest. Is it possible that there is a support group for it? If not, can you start one? GA, NA, ACOA and many others started in this way. I hope and pray that you find an answer soon.

There is already a fellowship, but the few meetings I can get to aren't particularly strong. I get the identification, but I don't get any recovery. I managed to be 'abstinent' for a while, and despite that being white knuckle abstinence, it was more than everyone else at the meeting I went to.

I don't know how to 'get on with it'. Every day I try, and every day I fail. I've actually got on my knees, and still I can't change. I try handing it over. I've tried doing exactly what I did with alcohol, but it just isn't working.

NHS Pysch says I need therapy, but the waiting list in my area is closed. OH has the funds, but doesn't think it'll work and doesn't want to pay.
