Hi Love, have only picked up on your thread.
Am so sorry that you find yourself in this situation. I don't wish to pry or to cause you any further pressure but is there any reason why he's fallen off the wagon? You mentioned that he'd supposedly gone to make amends with his mum..was that because they'd fallen out or just to say sorry for his actions of yesterday? Does he have "friends" encouraging him to drink?
I know its not always that simple with regards to alcohol addiction so please forgive me if I'm asking silly questions.0 -
Its a dreadful situation. I don't want to bore anyone with detail, but I brokew free from this over 10 yrs ago with 3 children. I had no idea how I would manage, but looking back it was the best thing I could have ever done for me and my children. all thses years later the ex is still boozing and it will most likely kill him, no matter how many well meaning friends family stay around ( and there arent many) he has lost everything worth having. I pity him and can't imagine how I lived with the mayhem he caused and his self centred behaviour. LIfe is sweet now and calm..which I love. My present husband is what I deserve.0

seriously I speak from experience and people were saying at the time to leave him but I hang it out etc.....this post could have been me saying it!!!....you know deep in your heart you ARE going to leave him eh? But can't face it...I know I will get abuse for saying that...but its all you can do for your own sanity...I know you will say you love him etc and that might be true but you CANNOT possibly stay like that forever not knowing when his next bender is going to be.
I've been happily married now for 11 years and leaving 'him' was the best thing I ever did...at the time my head was up my ar8e not knowing when he would come home..he was verbally and phsically abusive...one night he came home soaking wet because he was in the river (I think) then he would smash glasses off the walls because I was asking nicely how his night went...
get out with the puppy and stay out xxxx
last I heard he has had a kid and engaged to some lass that can drink him under the table......holy sh*t!!!!!!lolYou may walk and you may run
You leave your footprints all around the sun
And every time the storm and the soul wars come
You just keep on walking0 -
Hi
sorry to here that he has went back out again for more....are you married to him is the house in both names ?
the reason iam asking is why should you have to leave your home every night he is doing this ?
my friend had a partner who done this to her and she had left her home and went to womans aid, in hindsight she now says she should have just put his stuff to his mums and changed the locks as his name was not on the property but he was quite happy just to sit in the house whilst she was in a temporary flat that womans aid had given her !
have you spoken with his mum and told her that you are having to go to a hotel ?

A strange merge, and one that makes me a little uncomfortable really.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0

Me too. Also merging the thread with an alcoholics support thread might deter OP from posting because she is not necessarily going to get impartial support from people who are alcohol dependent.
Edit: I have e-mailed abuse and asked them to review this mergeI'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -

Just wanted to say that the 'Giving up/Cutting Down Alcohol Support' thread is just that. There are a whole range of people on there that want to think seriously about their relationship with alcohol (whether it be habit/cost/health etc). It is NOT just for alcoholics. I think that Budget Babe (knowing the caring person she is) just thought that OP would get kind, supportive words on there when she seemed to need them.
Agree that merging often doesn't help us posters and on this occasion it's definitely a case of seeing the word 'alcohol' and jumping to conclusions, but that's easily done.0 -

You are going through such a terrible time, but there is a: giving up / cutting down alcohol thread on debt free diaries.
There are people on there who are recovering alcoholics etc who can offer help and support.
I do hope that you will be ok and please have a look at the thread I have mentioned, they are a really great bunch of people.
Take care sweetheart :A

No! I didn't report anyone's post as abuse! Sorry, I should have been more clear about what I meant!
I emailed abuse to ask them to reconsider the decision to merge the threads, simply because I read on another thread that is what you should do if you believe threads have been merged in error.
In this case I do think it was a mistake to merge this thread with the other one, but I don't think it was done for bad intent or was in any way an abuse.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0
