oh i hope you're ok....i know exactly how let down you must feel. Didn't want to read and run without saying you are doing the right thing by getting away for the night. Good luck x0

This post brought back such awful memories of knowing my dad had gone to the pub instead of coming home after work. The tension and anxiety of what might occur when he came in and started on my mother I would never wish on any child.
OP I am so glad you got away tonight. It is heart rending to think of you and that little puppy having to go into a hotel, but thank goodness you are safe.
Please please think about your future in all of this when you do get to talk to him. Sometimes love is just not enough to help someone tackle their addictions. How I agree with you about hating alcohol too.
Alcohol affects everyone, even more so the people who are not drinking as they have no cushion from the reality of the violence and abuse it can cause.
Best wishes to you. XGrocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Glad to hear you've got yourself and the pup out of the way for the night. Hope it's going ok!0

OP, wouldn't it have been easier to stay in your home but lock the door and tell him to go elsewhere if he came back?
You could have got a friend or family member to stay with you rather than upping and leaving your home.0 -

If he's abusive when drunk I don't think that's an option. An abusive drunk tends to make as much noise as possible when locked out in order to be let in and abuse at closer quarters.0 -

I haven't got any family (or friends really - as he has managed to put a distance between us and them!)

I guess there could be several reasons but you're right that the silence is deafening. Hopefully she'll get a good nights sleep as she has a lot to deal with tomorrow. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.
