I know we are so proud of him!
Another problem is that he has got the car with him!!!!!!!!!
He was in court yesterday answering a charge for driving without a licence!
Oh - why?
The local Travelodge is full so I just ringing around trying to find somewhere that will take the dog!
will he drive it ?
hope you get somewhere to stay this evening good luck xResolve not to be poor, Whatever you have , Spend less.0 -
OP, just get yourself and your little dog to safety as soon as possible. If you do not have finances to do this then go to shelter. Remember, you are not responsible for your partners problems, he has made this choice, not you. Best of luck to you.0

Before you do anything else, get the car away from the pub!Another problem is that he has got the car with him!!!!!!!!!
I think a relapse at this point would probably be the norm.He was in court yesterday answering a charge for driving without a licence!
Oh - why?
Does he normally call from the pub at this stage in a session? If he doesn't, then perhaps he realises he has messed up.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

I disagree. Seven months is amazing for an alcoholic, however if he is abusive, I would not be going anywhere near him, not even risking moving a car nearby. He has doen this to himself, its not up to you to get him out of trouble. You should just think of yourself in this case for tonight...after all, that is all he will be doing.:starmod:Sealed Pot Challenge Member 1189:starmod:0 -
Do you know which pub he is in? If so I'd ring the police.I know we are so proud of him!

In fact I'd ring the police anyway and tell them he's got the car, is drinking and doesn't have a licence.Dum Spiro Spero0 -
When you've got yourself to safety, give Al-anon a call -

If you don't have family to talk to it would be worth giving them a ring, you need support.
Good luck0 -
Poor you and well done for your 7 months of support! It's so hard when we love someone and know that they are on a road to self destruction. He know's you've been there for him but unfortunately if he doesn't want to get well you just can't do it for him. Maybe when you see the light of day you'll know what the right thing to do is. I hope you have some real support just for you. x0

Fair point, but it depends how far gone he is. OP [on this thread] has only said abusive, not violent.I disagree. Seven months is amazing for an alcoholic, however if he is abusive, I would not be going anywhere near him, not even risking moving a car nearby.
It is a dilemma. But so far he has not got himself into [more] trouble - this is not about getting him out of trouble it is about denying him the opportunity to get himself into trouble. We know already that he has been in court, if this develops further it may have economic consequences for the OPHe has doen this to himself, its not up to you to get him out of trouble.
That may be true of how he got to the pub, it may not be true of how he is now. I think the question is openYou should just think of yourself in this case for tonight...after all, that is all he will be doing.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
