Thanks JulieB - we 'passed' and pick the girls up tomorrow - I hope your lovelies find forever homes soon x.
Slightly off topic, but here,s a pic.
As for clothing, I work 6 hours a day for 3 days a week, so I treat my work clothes like a uniform, trousers = same pair for the 3 days, just clean top and pants (obs) I wear yoga pants round the house and change for 'public viewing'Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

Packing to go away for a few days, it's been very easy and the flat is pretty much all clean and tidy! Well, as clean as it getting with a clumsy flatmate and 2 cats, but v tidy
this is a first
One of the first things I sorted was my scarves - they have their own wardrobe as the wardrobe doesn't have enough depth to be used for much else! No strictly needed, but gorgeous and v joyful. Well, the scarves were nagging me - until I changed them from sitting over hangers to being on individual shower rings and then on hangers, and colour coordinated. That corner of the room feels woo now
Thank you all for posting so positively and being so encouraging. Hmm, just realised I've not packed hugely joyful clothes, may have to have a think about that!:AStarting again on my own this time!! - Defective flylady! :A0 -
Finally, caught up!
mav: I've been wearing my 'best' clothes for the past couple of months, because I feel so happy, and I want to look as good as I feel - I know that I am radiating joyfulness, and I know that it shows! Even an errand to the local shop is truly joyful when I'm 'dressed up'. But I think a black velvet swing coat... will have to wait until the weather's cooler - it'll look wikid with jeans!
Becky 2: I have been working on gradually controlling my stress for over a year. After living on adrenalin for the many years, two divorces, raising five children alone, nearly losing my house several times, etc, stress just seemed natural.
There were stressfull relationships, brown envelopes, equipment dying, expensive car repairs - I used every crisis to practise control.
In May I discovered happiness is a deliberate choice. I am now happy ALL the time. What is more I can now turn off stress, the instant I identify a stressfull situation!
So, practise, practise, practise. You can allow yourself to be stressed - or refuse to.
VJsmum: Great idea wearing something 'best' for your 'date'. I hope you have a lovely time, tomorrow.
maddiemay and mrs-moneypenny: I'm into genealogy, too, with the accompanying piles of unsorted notes! I find that I get the bug from time to time and am then addicted until I hit another 'brickwall'. Then I go off it for a while. Also, it's a winter evening hobby, I find.
PollyWollyDoodle: Thanks for the sewing machine info. I thought it might be different equiment for different tasks. A friend of mine had a machine specially for quilting - perhaps that's your sister's third one?
I'm happy with my basic zig-zag and my 1 spinning wheel, although I know spinners who have 4 or more!
juliebunny: To freeze eggs - get some of those plastic egg cartons. Crack the eggs and separate into individual compartments - white in one yolk in another. Open-freeze. Store whites and yolks in different zip-lock bags. They can be used in baking and cooking - no info on meringues! :jNeeds, NOT wants!
No food waste since November 2010. :j

The tidiness and organisation are having an unexpected effect: its weird to not need to do tidying and organising. I'm almost panicky, it must be the loss of possessions as a comfort blanket.
The cats seem much happier with the space:AStarting again on my own this time!! - Defective flylady! :A0 -

I discovered a wonderful book (actually it was recommended by my therapist) 'Hardwiring Happiness' by Rick Hanson. It has really helped with my tendency to dwell on the negative and stress about things that are outwith my control. Now I look at the little joys. It really helps.Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -

It was paperwork that did it - such a laborious task and no instant results gratification.
I think I need to reread our bible...
I am in the same boat ...
And it all started off so well *sigh*
I have lent my book to a work colleague, so read this thread to keep me going. But I am truly loosing the will with the paperwork. I am seriously thinking of moving on to another category to get things going again, and coming back to paperwork later.Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...

Thinking practically - it will get very dirty and leather bags are notoriously difficult to clean at the best of times.
White handbags say "wedding" to me....I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Morning all
On this wet and murky day I am wearing my rather slinky gunmetal grey textured velvet dress I will put my hair up and do a decorative scarf before going to do mils cleaning. Postie just knocked with a package and said " oh glad I caught you before you left" so I obviously look overdressed for housework Lol!
Dd2 tends to always bring her own supplies with DGS as she uses washable nappies and cloths and breastfeeds so the 'nappy box' I bought has been repurposed and had the few toys we have here put in it to keep them tidy but accessible.
Have a little ironing to do later but really all I needed to do was sweep round and straighten the settee throws. Lounge is looking tidy.
DH sort of cheated, he's taken 4 of the floor of shelf standing DVD racks out of the lounge and boxed them up elsewhere. I said that wasn't in the spirit of kondoing as its just moving stuff rather than kondoing unjoyful things. BUT at the carboot this week he didn't buy a single DVD, as he's now realised we have loads to watch! He also put 4 we have had for years but not watched on the Cs/giveaway pile as he said he doesn't want to bother with those.
I will keep plugging away at them watching and hopefully passing on, then eventually the boxed ones can be rehomed in the cupboards as space is made.
I have papers/mags to recycle and carriers to samosa as well
Have a joyful day allSPC~12 ot 124
